Fire Rainbow. We're all doomed.

Not really. A fire rainbow isn't actually a rainbow and it has nothing to do with fire. It's real name is circumhorizontal arc. It is caused by ice crystals in the air being hit by sunlight at a certain angle.

The halo is formed by sunlight entering horizontally-oriented, flat, hexagonal ice crystals through a vertical side face and leaving through the near horizontal bottom face Link

1st time for me to see something like that.

So, basically like a horizontal rainbow, or a rainbow laying on its side then, right?

That's pretty cool.

I think one of the coolest weather phenomenon's I've ever seen was last spring when I saw a complete double rainbow from end to end, with a portion of a third rainbow (about half). I've read that the reason you most often can't see all of a 3rd rainbow is because it's actually behind you in the sun.

Isn't this also called a "Petrol Sky".
