Yes, it's a book by Naomi Klein, but first....

I was hanging out playing with one ear listening to "Kulturzeit" on 3sat when the moderator said something along the lines of "part of the official communication strategy of the German federal government is to shock people into obeying the new rules..." she then too mentioned the book by Naomi Klein, Canada 2007.
And it clicked, for me at least, that we'll never be just given back the freedoms we're now handing to them because of an irrational fear of a virus that's besides what it might be definitely not EBOLA.
Alarming is for example we're taken the Basic democratic right to organise a protest.
I didn't ask the gov to worry about my health.
We've probably all read the many threads about the disinformation concerning covid19.

One can have opinions about Naomi Klein, she's a socialist, you don't have to agree with everything she thinks is right, but the most important part is the fifth, how companies learned to profit from crisis.
And I'd go one step further, what we see now is a modified repetition of the bank crisis, when the gain goes to the shareholders and the risk becomes socialised.
I've heard that a lot now "The world will not be the same after Corona..." and it is very likely that the driving force behind it is even more nefarious than what we "conspiracy nuts" could ever have imagined.

Now they'll collapse for sure, that's part of the plan and the "shock tale", a death blow to all those inconvenient small to medium sized businesses.
A "streamlining" process because those technocrats want us to be more predictable.

Really.
What did the last election do for you? The people? The nation? Socially, politically, diplomatically?
Divide et impera.

Yeah, and they skipped across a U bend and a pond with their families and left a whole lot of destruction behind.

Cheers

Rome never ended. All history is a black iron prison of seduction and lies. Hail Caesar (and don't take cash from pink zebras).

Well we know predicting human behaviour is the "most exciting" research field of our time.

If you google that you can find a lot of different papers and what we have now, with the push for social media becoming more frequently used (Snowden, remember?), because of social distancing, all nicely restricted to their homes, with all the Alexas and tvs and whatnot spying on us, the for sure coming DNA test for everybody because we need to know who has antibodies (they say)...

What can be said for sure it's a massive data collecting event. Probably because of the popularity of prediction science. It's about control, why now, for what purpose, who knows?

Might have something to do with a breakthrough in deep learning data storage problems?

I read that book on the first edition. It still is relevant now, and maybe more so.

And yes, this could likely be the death knell of small business. They may crop up again, but I would bet that somehow they all will have a partner in their businesses. Mom and Pop Diner will be partly owned by Taco Bell. Joe and Eddies, corner bodega will be partly owned by Walmart. Etc.
