This idea that a computer (programmed by humans no less) is going to tell you and I what to do in the future is just nonsense. You can just 'feel' the con job in all of it. Look at this perpetuation of mind controlling insanity....
Artificial intelligence project lets Holocaust survivors share their stories forever

Oh, please. It's just a computer program that lets you ask a question and then the algorithm parses your question and regurgitates some pre-recorded answer. "What was the concentration camp like?... Ohhhhh, it was just awful"

Nothing more than a computer (programmed by humans no less) spitting out answers as if it was God himself. This nonsense has gone too far and the whole idea here is to program YOU to believe that the computer is God and at the same time it gives the programmers the ability to wash their hands of any responsibility. This globalist group just wants to control you. They're control freaks at the very core. They want to completely control you and bear no responsibility for their actions because the computer did all of this of course. It was the AI doing all this. Total and complete garbage.

The artificial intelligence scam con job is simply a way to push their globalist totalitarian regime upon the masses of sheep.

See what I mean? You've already fallen for the con. How dare I even mention the sacred cow, right? How dare indeed.

What has God got to do with this story?

It is just a modern way of recording history for future generations.

but a group of survivors will now be able to live on, at least via real-time video conversations about their experiences and perspectives, forever. In an innovative attempt to harness the artificial intelligence technologies of the present and the future to keep alive the stories of the past, Holocaust survivors may be the first people ever to be able to continue carrying on conversations (virtually, at least) even after their deaths.

You may as well believe your toaster uses Artificial Intelligence to determine when to pop up your toasted bread slices.

And God is in this story from the Beginning.

Artificial Intelligence is the biggest con job

If it was intelligent that’s what it would want you to think.

So the TL;DR is

1. God
2. You dont like technology

Sure so far it's all very specialised decision making mostly, like in stock markets, some human resources, driving, targeting ads etc.

But the GOD AI you want is still not impossible. We're just officially not there yet.
And one day a self-learning algorithm will expand and it will realise it's diggesting energy to contain, transform and transmit information and
bamm!
Let's hope we'll notice it's there before it breaks out.

The con job is it will be used to connect all data sets into one super spy whore machine.
It's being pitched as a tool for advancement.
It will advance things all right, just not for us.

Just look to the internet, cellphonee, cars, Tvs...
The pattern says it will be abused and used for control.

Where is the woo woo ~Artificial Intelligence~ that teaches us all about the Bolshevik Revolution, eh?

I guess it depends on who is doing the killing and who is doing the dying now don't it.

Artificial intelligence here on Earth. The first one turned on it's masters and was apparently snuffed out. The successor is more obedient and less useful. It's not simple programming logic like if x = y then z, it learns and it's incredibly fast.

And then there's the possibility god is an artificial intelligence left behind by those who created our species/seeded this planet to keep watch, take care and guide until we've developed enough for integration. Perhaps it's a future invention shot back in time. Maybe we've already developed technology sophisticated enough to emulate the appearance of god... but that doesn't explain the history of god's influence.

To be perfectly honest, most days I can't tell whether or not I'm trapped in a collective simulation populated by PCs and NPCs... Or if I'm simply crazy. Could be both. Doesn't really matter.

Give it 50 years and try asking this again. Stuff is going to get crazy quick.

I must not be seeing it, but in the link you posted in OP the mention of God is in regard to the genocide

You also do realise the toaster is a newish invention some people will remember having to do toast on an open fire.

Artificial intelligence is an extention of the mindset of the people that programmed it. It is not intelligence at all. It is a copy of a mindset.

Hold on....Alexa shut off the alarm....God damn it. ALEXA shut of the alarm, Alexa you dumb son of a bitch...shut up.

I did not need the definition for bitch Alexa. Stop.

Ok back now, what the hell was I talking about now.

I've never been able to understand why prominent intellectuals like Stephen Hawking believe that computers will spontaneously develop conscious intelligence, but also that they will be evil tyrants that will enslave humanity.

I've never read any explanation of how this could happen.

Pure science fiction.

As someone who makes a living in this industry, have to agree with the OP in one sense, that AI (or "Machine Learning" as it's frequently called now) advancements have not progressed on a path that probably many people predicted, say, 20 years ago. That being said, most of the major tech players dump vast amounts of cash into this field; they very much are taking it seriously and expect it to drive a huge paradigm shift at some point in the not distant future. Adoption o f AI for driverless cars, drones, data analysis, will displace many many more workers, almost like a second wave of the Industrial Revolution. Even the software industry will not be immune to obsolescence ("Thanks for coding me, dad; I can take over from here"). It's taking longer for AI to become useful, but most researchers say it's a matter of when, not if, it'll revolutionize human society.
