Everything in our state is down except parks, but they left them open and said people could go fishing, hiking, etc.

Park travel is way up. It helps that we've had an early spring this year unlike last year, and even though all the trees are covered in freezing rain today ... It's going to be pushing 90 at least one day next week. So expect people to get out on the lakes more as the weather warms and this drags on.

And???

Is it working?

What's your opinion?

Some meat would be good.

Here is a bit of meat from the source in the OP...

In Italy, one of the countries hardest hit by the virus, visits to retail and recreation locations, including restaurants and movie theaters, plunged 94% while visits to workplaces slid 63%. Reflecting the severity of the crisis there, grocery and pharmacy visits in Italy dropped 85% and park visits were down by 90%.
In the United States, California, which was the first in the with a statewide lockdown, cut visits to retail and recreation locations by half. By contrast, Arkansas, one of the few states without a sweeping lockdown, has seen such visits fall 29%, the lowest for a U.S. state.

This is terrifying.

Private corporations should not have this level of surveillance power.

Most worry about government spying, the real concern is multinational corporate spying.

Exactly why this country is doomed.

One thing this information doesn't show is how many cases already existed when each country told its citizens to stay at home.

Why would it?

It's showing how certain activities have changed. For example, in my state use of parks has declined 65% since the stay home order came into effect. Since parks are closed, it shows that there are still a good number of people who are violating the rules.

Why would it?

I didn't mean that it should, what I meant is that this is not the whole story.

If a country tells its people to stay at home one month after the first case we can expect a different outcome when compared with a country in which the stay at home decision was declared one or two weeks after the first case.

a reply to: Phage with regard to where is everybody? Maybe stuck in other states or other countries unable to now get home after lockdown was enforced? jut a thought as some would have been working elsewhere or on their vacations unable to now get back.
