Also, the South Pole has now moved out of Antarctica and into the Southern Ocean.

Yeah. But it's hard to say if there's anything unusual about that motion.

But it seems that during past reversals the overall strength of the Earth's magnetic field was very low. And it also seems that the strength of the Earth's magnetic field at this time is far stronger than it's average strength.

This new evidence is consistent with the factor-of-2 equator-to-pole paleointensity signature of a geocentric axial dipole field and also indicates that the time-averaged field is considerably weaker than the present-day field. The resulting dipole moment provides a new calibration standard for cosmogenic isotope production rates and suggests that the present decrease in geomagnetic field intensity may simply be a return to a more average magnitude rather than a harbinger of a polarity reversal.

Maybe we are in the early stages of a geomagnetic reversal. Maybe not. But they seem to occur over long periods of time and so are unlikely to prove to be much of a problem.

Called a geomagnetic reversal, the last time this happened was 780,000 years ago. A new study led by the University of Wisconsin-Madison shows that this reversal took at least 22,000 years to complete. That’s several times longer than previously thought, and the results further call into question controversial findings that some reversals could occur within a human lifetime.

Yes, that applies to rather a significant period of time where our Earth history is concerned.

And as long as her core keeps on spinning, she will continue on supporting life, bar any significant ELE in the post, until the Sun burps and envelopes our Earth in around 4 to 5 billion years.

We are not the be-all and end-all of anything, alpha and omega wise we are somewhere in between.

Welp when the end comes, nothing we can do about it. Once the internet goes down and the luxury of ats goes away. That’s when you’ll know to RUN!

Oh and it looks like compasses will be outta wack. Everyone at the local grocery store are saying it’s the end of the world, someone looked and sounded like darth Vader in there also with the mask they had on. 🤷‍♂️ Luckily I am still pretty grounded, but seeing the world freaking out is disturbing.

Maybe we are facing a much more serious virus they are not telling us about to avoid panic. I think that is a possibility.
