I too, thankfully, have plenty of seeds and I bought fertilizer and soil back in February so I'm all set.
Michigan put out an open burn ban during the rainiest season because of Covid19. It seems some governors are trying to out compete each other on ridiculous Covid measures.

I suspect this has more to do with non-essential retailers complaining about not being able to sell the stuff like clothes and electronics while target and wal-mart do, than actual evidence that there is less contamination. Once you are in the store, you've brought it in.

Made me think of this clip for The Little Prince:

Anything not essential must be made essential.

Shows a kids bike going through a chopper and then paper clips coming out the other side.

Did you catch that line from the Prince. “I really like my job cleaning the roofs”

This kind of direct control over commerce is terrifying.

Welcome to what a command economy would be like. For anyone who wants a socialist state, this is as close as we've ever been.

Clearly, there are no more trees so we cannot have toilet paper anymore ...

Starting to hate the word "essential" now... On the SAME level as "clap back," or "broke the internet."

Don't like being told what you need?

takes a lot of money and man power to turn a tree into toilet paper and then mass transport it from its site of creation.
Going to start to get some weird brands soon

This is what we “gun clingers” have been talking about for years- and all it took was a bad flu for you all to fall in line.

“It’s necessary, it will save lives!”
“It’s for the common good!”
“But, but, but... think of the children!”
“You wouldn’t feel this way if it was someone close to you!”

I warned people to buy seeds a month ago because they would stop it. Still fine here in Michigan but the governor is a follower so I expect it to happen any day.

Nuke warning sirens finally stopped. A special springtime 3 minute test

Quiet again.

That is exactly correct! People who dream of a happy socialist economy and state are just dreaming... they have no idea what it’s really about, but ad you say we are getting a picture of it. Of course they can just blame this on Trump as usual.

So you can't buy clothes in Vermont? Seriously is there a link to that?

It's getting ridiculous in some places.

Small comforts are sometimes the only thing that keeps a populous from going bat crap crazy on each other when under stress and/or isolation.

Way to go government.

Unless that is what they want.

I’m sorry but this is not about targeting the big box stores to give the little guys a fair shake. Just because Vermont is a blue state doesnt mean they care about the little guy. Take for example Jeff Bezos big time liberal but amazon selling us the Chinese toilet paper while you cannot get a face mask from a reputable American company, because many corporations like 3m sold masks to foreign countries. Why Americans have to make our own masks ... because of corporate greed selling to foreign competition. I’ve known for decades that this is what’s wrong with the banking institutions and the controlling elites.... they have no loyalty to any country and so the same is for liberal pretend socialists who use capitalism to line their pockets.... they have no loyalty... and so we hear Democrat progressives whine about “ conservative nationalism”.... well welcome to the world controlled by the Internationalists. That’s the difference between national socialism and the International Socialists.
I also have a theory that this virus pandemic is being used to destroy the free market and give the Chi Coms world dominance as well as channel the One World government manifest through the World Health org and other UN programs and anything that is underlying the Agenda 21. They couldn’t do it through the Climate Change hoax so now it’s a virus pandemic.

Wait, what? I sure as hell didn't read this yet, and nobody told half my neighborhood. We weren't the only ones out at the fire pits with the family last night o.O

< runs off to google the evidently silent burn ban order >

Edit: Wtf, looks true. Everything but campfires is prohibited? Like anyone around here is going to comply, fire pits are insanely common backyard deals in my neighborhood, pffft.

Those get tested the first Friday of every month from April through October, though, so it's not new or unusual.
