Haven't seen a thread on this and since it's all the rage these days thought it would be cool to get thoughts on this. I don't have Netflix so haven't watched it myself but since there are no sports to talk about the guys who do talk about sports have been talking this up.

Apparently, and seemingly for good reason, there is no one to like in this. One of my sports shows regularly has Ron McGill from the Miami Zoo on to talk about pets and animals and he's so disgusted by what these people do. He knows all of them as he had regular dealings with them, working with them, back in his earlier young & dumb days.

Joe Exotic sounds like a '70's porn name. Some very strange people in this world. Like I would ever want a frikkin' tiger or want to get near one to get a picture with it. What insanity.

I actually watched it an EVERYONE of those owners of exotic businesses came out dirty a sin.
The business end of it was revoting.

Now I'm not a PETA lover, but they were correct in calling a spade a spade with the personalities this series targeted

But off to the fun stuff!
While tigers are amazing having one is constant responsibility. You can forget about vacations, you're going spend a butt-load of money making sure their enclosure is protected, an they are a 20yr commitment. Plus the inherent danger factor which never goes away. Unless your independently very wealthy feeding them an proper Vet care costs a bundle.

Like other wild animals they just don't make good pets.

We binge watched the entire series.
And then...
Went to his still active YouTube channel and watched a crap load of his joeexoticTv.
I love the music videos he did over his beef with the woman who killed her husband.

I adore that show! It is the most entertaining thing on Netflix in a looong time!

The drama cannot be matched anywhere on television, the characters are wild, there is Joe Exotic underwear, a gay Methican throuple, a tiger sex cult guru, murder for hire, lots of shooting and blowing things up for no reason, a one armed lesbian and a crazy cat lady who everyone knows fed her husband to tigers!

You're not going to find all of that on network television!

It was great to get your mind off other stuff. I too am not a fan of PETA but how these animals are taking care of and treated is abhorrent. Every one of them is sleazy as hell.

The fact that we have more Tigers in America than in the wild is crazy too, at the bare minimum you ought to have certain strict guidelines on how many you can own and how much space each exotic animal must have in their enclosure. If it is legal at all.

Spoiler Alert
if a man wants to start a tiger meth cult and not pay his employees and brainwash two straight men into marrying him. More power to him.
If a man wants to start a new age tiger sex cult by brainwashing beautiful young women into loving tigers so much they work for free. More power to him also!
If a woman wants to feed her husband to a tiger in order to start a non profit government backed tiger caging facility where they try to destroy the other tiger cults. I'm all for it.

Just document it please and sell it to netflix. This is America

Im joking. But isn't it crazy there are supposedly 10,000 tigers living in the US?

Ron McGill on the DLB Show w/ Stugotz is radio gold.

The fact the guy who — allegedly — Tony Montana was based off remarks that he’s the least controversial character in the documentary is proof-positive Tiger King is TV gold.

I watched some of it. It's pretty goofy. And like what Cravens said above the guy who is supposedly the inspiration for Tony Montana comes across as the most normal person on the show. That being said though. Every single person on that show is a loon. You got a tiger sex cult. A meth bro harem. A woman who probably got away with murder. And that's just scratching the surface.

Just going to respond to some of the posts but I do like your summation of the series. When all this stay at home crap is done I'm gonna hop over to sis's house so I can see this for myself.

I do like McGill. He's great on the show as he gets it yet his segments are always informative on some level. You never know what they might throw at him so it varies and he's been great to listen to about this doc.

I think exotic was pushed/framed so that he ended up in jail..

The crazy bitch murdered her husband..

I have nothing against people who have these kind of zoo operations, because i know i have not given a single dollar to save wild tigers and their habitats, so its up to these people to make sure they at least they do not go extinct.

My two cents.

Supposedly, the con man, Jeff Lowe, is from the town I live in. LOL would not be surprised at all.

All of the people on there are crooks and cons. I have never cringed as much as I did, watching that series. Why in the heck is our government still letting this crap go on?

And seriously, that many convicts, now supposedly millionaires, off of exotic animals?
And the, em, "slowest" (polite as I could think) one, is the one that goes to jail?

Sure makes the authorities look mighty damn stupid.

I did have no idea though, that meth and tigers together, could turn you gay, so I guess I did learn that.

Why would the government not let those places go on?

I mean like for example your regular zoo is no different, they breed them just the same, sure a couple go on to live in a natural habitat, but most are there to attract tourists, then they give them to other zoos, so they can make cute puppies.. Also common practice to euthanize healthy individuals if no one wants an adult animal, after that they are commonly sold to taxidermists.

Or ol rodeos, should they be banned too because of cruelty or something like that.

I think the world would be a little bit more boring if these places go away.

In the show they actually mention thay it's not uncommon for zoos to buy exotic animals from these backwood breeders

The people in this show remind me of people I've known.

It's why I avoid Woodbury and McMinnville in Tennessee. haha

Umm, because most of these people appear to be morons, that can barely take care of themselves? I'm not saying Zoo's are perfect, but I would hope there is at least some type of regulation going on?

As far as banning rodeo's and such?
Tigers are not native to the US are they? They eat people.

Bulls and horses, not so much. At least last I knew. I would feel a bit safer if a bull got loose, compared to a tiger. With the bull, I could at least climb a tree.

So, maybe just heavy regulations? And steep fines for non proper care?

Just going to leave my prediction here.

Soon Joe Exotic will die of the crow disease.
In reality, the fat ol lady paid to get him killed in prison.
