Yep, they cannot feed their masses on their own its why they take the risk of letting the few see what abundance looks like in order to feed. You ask why the wet markets are in full swing, no matter how bad it looks? China's stability is trembling, look to Hong Kong and the riots there before this mess. Look at the lies they spun about the dead and the docs they have killed. Their masses are hungry and they have heard rumors of the spring.

Mutual Assured Destruction prevented direct conflict between the USA and USSR for 40 years. MAD still stands just the same. I don't see any direct conflict between world powers as the stakes are too high and there would be no-one but losers. It is against everyones interests. Spot fires and proxy wars are likely however.
