You're comparing the flu, which has been around for a long long time and left unfettered to spread all over the nation into every population, to covid-19, which has only started spreading a few months back and is certainly not left unfettered to spread freely within that short time-frame. If you want to make accurate comparisons you need to narrow the scope to populations where covid-19 has well and truly run rampant throughout.

Closest thing in the US as of yet is NYS. Even in Italy it's only really run rampant in some regions, not all over -- so this same logic is valid for all over the World if you're going to start comparing Worldwide stats. Fact is, until covid-19 has had a lot more time to spread throughout the populations to the same extent as the flu -- it'll be very difficult to make accurate comparisons -- and with the unprecedented actions being taken to contain covid-19, that may never happen.

H1N1 killed 12,300 people in America during 2009/2010. By Summer of 2018, 65,000 people in the USA had succumbed to H1N1, according to the CDC. It's likely/probable that Covid-19 deaths will occur for a long time, as with the flu and H1N1, isn't it?

Maybe, but that depends on a lot of unknown factors -- such as our bodies natural ability to develop immunity to it, the creation of effective vaccines & treatment, the ability to significantly increase medical resources to handle the additional load, etc. Then there is the possibility of covid-19 eventually dying off and not coming back as a seasonal type virus like the flu does.

Still too early to say. It is quite likely that the CFR of this virus will gradually decline as any/all of the above factors come into play... but that doesn't exclude the possibility that this virus has the potential to kill far more and in a much shorter amount of time than H1N1.

I am wondering if doctors are testing for both the annual flu and WuFlu? We have all heard that people with pre existing conditions have a higher death rate. I haven't seen anything about having the flu and Wuflu at the same time.

Has anyone heard of anyone testing for any other virus while tested positive for the WuFlu?

I have been asking about this for months...

Maybe WuFlu hits people especially hard if/when they get infected with influenza - or even a cold...
