In Case it Wasn't Already Clear, a Lot of "Conservatives" Are Showing Their Real Colors

So obviously everybody got played in this debacle. Independent of party affiliation, we've got liberals and alleged/self-claiming "conservatives" supporting the destruction of Constitutional Rights and the gang land execution of the US economy over a panicdemic... fears being placed above logic, panic above values, and a sudden desire to have the government save us from ourselves. Y'all got played hardcore and this is only the first quarter of the game. These emotional asshats showed the government our playbook, in it's entirety, and the remainder of this game is going to be a bloodbath thanks to the over-reactions of the majority.

Think back just a few months ago... back to a time when we did not have an influenza virus being manipulated to pose the greatest current threat to humanity ever. Back to an era just a scant few months ago when global warming was going to kill us all. There was a partisan divide surrounding the response to that other imaginary threat back then, with liberals eager to bend the entire system and economy right the hell over to address their make-believe boogeyman du jour and conservatives properly pointing out that you don't throw away an economy or Rights over *fears* of *possible* doom, especially when the numbers are questionable and the outcomes very hazy.

What has happened since January 1st? The powers that be called conservatives' bluff. Many of us rose to the challenge, but most crumbled like a house of cards. Thanks for that, now they know enough self-proclaimed "conservatives" are liars, and are actually the same sniveling, fear driven, emotional wrecks as liberals are... easily manipulated and easily controlled by the same fascism liberals gravitate towards with their wet dreams of socialism and government teats overflowing with tax dollars. When Coronavirus is over, despite the fact that the total death tolls will be considerably lower than the over-dramatized projections used to scare the majority into compliance and cowering fear, the next even bigger threat will be global warming, and they know without a doubt that the majority are whores and their prices start very, very low.

Mistakes were made. Thanks for that, when the spine was most needed it crumbled to dust and now we're all neck deep in the cess pool which was once a shining city on a hill. Reagan was actually right, but he failed to realize he'd made a horrible mistake in assuming all "Conservatives" were actually conservative. Fascism did enter the United States in the name of liberalism, a fact which will become brutally apparent when the liberal next sink their teeth into global warming, this time with the full understanding that every "Right" in America is negotiable in the minds of the pathetic majority.

To use another example, many on the left want to ban guns when there is a shooting.

Those opposed to it used to say that it affected just that group at that time and it was just one individual.

There used to be people saying that you don't trade freedom for security.

Can they still say that after this debacle?

They'll start working on banning concealed carry because it's the next "Unseen Enemy".

I find it hilarious (in a "you pathetic sack" kind of way) how people so vehemently against so much as considering the government's numbers regarding climate change, because the government spins everything and only stupid people gobble up those numbers and that of their scientific community lackeys...have gobbled up the government numbers and those of the government lackeys for a virus.

Pot, meet kettle there. It's almost a delicious kind of trainwreck to see that kind of mental gymnastics to justify doing the exact thing they lambasted others doing for a different field.

Almost.

Edit: And for the last time before someone tries to flip it, I am NOT supportive of the mainstream narrative on CC, it's a damned example of hypocrisy here.

I'd *like* to think that one would result in a bloodbath that would ensure that particular Right is retained and unquestioned... I'd *like* to say that, but the present responses indicate that America has become that spineless. Hell, at this point we may end up with a Hitler running the country in a few years... seems like we're about as resistant to fascism as the average German was 100 years ago, perhaps even less as the German population had the excuse of the majority of Germans not being the prime targets of total removal of liberty and freedom.

I belong to nothing. I advocate for my peoples wealth, health and happiness. Anything beyond that is Gods and my business. Wealth to preserve health, health to enjoy happiness and happiness to be pursued. That is the formula we agreed to.

No one is above the many. Our needs outweigh your wants.

When the crisis is over, you can TAKE your rights back if they were actually stolen. Careful what help you spit on now before you need them later on.

BTW
Did you guys act like this on 9/11 or did you make a "glass em" comment and cheer the Bush dynasty on?

Did you oppose the Patriot act? I know I did. Yet here I find myself in my city which WILL look like yours soon and just think to myself....how many wanted decades of war over 3000 dead. The wrong enemy. The lie of all lies. Yet now we bat an eye at a couple hundred thousand american lives.

Dont leave anyone behind MY ASS.

What happened to you people.

Added-
You would shed a tear for a soldier who dies saving one life but when American comfort is threatened you say let Americans die.

I have serious doubts enough people who claim to value the Second so religiously would pick up their weapons and actually defend anything. Serious doubts. Those who would, would be sorely outnumbered by the government.

How does the US Constitution pertain to attacking a foreign enemy on foreign soil or to enacting a law that was, as originally written, directing surveillance entirely OUTSIDE of the United States? By the way, we've had 3 recent examples of the type of bipartisan support and agreement this virus has generated in Washington DC... those 3 were
-The Wars in Afghanistan and Iraq
-The Patriot Act
-TARP Bailouts

How'd those all work out? Did hindsight demonstrate huge mistakes were made and we should NOT have done what we did? Do you honestly think this Coronavirus will be any different?

Outnumbered doesn't matter, honestly. Better to die on your feet (and bring as much company to Hell as possible) than live on your knees. Otherwise, I agree with you and that saddens me because I had a more positive opinion of the average American just a short few months ago. I sorely overestimated their character, morality, and strength of values.

I bit that poisoned apple on 9/11 and have regretted it every day since, and I am not happy with what I am seeing now either.

so many extraordinary powers being given that dont match the story as we know it.

Most of them are on your side on this, begging for the handcuffs and begging for the slavery, though. Are you not pleased with this new rope?

Thats why they need a global healtcare systen, so the other's can argue against paying for gunshot wounds. There will also be a Bloomberg type initiative from our brother's across the pond to quell the rampant diabetes and heart disease.

It wouldn't reduce the cost even if it worked because they would be sending it to 3rd world nations. Not to help just mostly as a money funneling operation.

November is going to be VERY interesting - especially if you're all still being told not to gather in groups of more than 2 - by that time everyone who wants money has to download the government app - this same app will also be used to gather your vote.

Everything is fine.

This right here. This is the old school American spirit that seems to be disappearing. Give it 2 generations and it will cease to exist. That is why I absolutely detest progressives. They are destroying the fabric of our great nation. All we can do is try to instill those values and traditions in our children. Even that is proving more difficult these days with the leftist teachers indoctrinating them while they're at school. Homeschool? Nope, takes both parents working to provide for a family these days.

Sadly, it almost seems like a lost cause.

Hmm... how does that phrase go.....

Ah yes - "Don't like America.... maybe you should leave it?"

Seem to remember you using that a few times on people in the past.

I mean...you say you're pro constitution unless it comes to freedom of religion, freedom of expression and freedom of movement and you've spent the last couple of days with your panties all wound up in a bunch whining like a brat about the general populace.

You maybe should heed your own advice?

Womp womp.

(As 'they' say.....)

As with the rest of us ASSHATS I have thought you a voice of reason. Easy there cowboy don't let Trigger throw you.... Perhaps some time off, and very likely back to not taking the Above Top Secret community too seriously would help your anxiety. All along the way I had thought you the voice of reason, as I said, so it's un-nerving to see your voice so loud and exuberant.
I don't think people's base motives have changed that much..... if so they were likely setting on the fence.
Sorry, just an observation.

A woman came out of the men's bathroom at the gas station just now. But it might not have been a woman below the belt. Who the hell knows. America is changing. And only historians will be able to say whether it was for the better or the worse.

Burd and I have butted heads a hell of a lot, but not once have I ever gotten THAT impression from him. You're going to need to prove it with post examples, otherwise I'm calling blatant slander.
