I don't think the Chinese would use an Australian Heavy Vehicle sign. Would they?

Neither would the US.

Not only does are military, but several in the world have this self propelled howitzer.

excuse me for pointing out it's a self propelled artillery piece and not a tank.there is a difference.. funny how you edited the OP after i pointed that out. and the first post showed tanks, why would he have shown you tanks it if you didn't call them that. and i also told it wasn't a tank

It’s a paladin, 155 mm howitzer Self propelled gun

Yes, I know. So do you recognize this insignia?

I was answering hounddoghowlie...
And no

It is a road sign for convoy and transport stuff.

And it is an M109 Paladin. Definitely not Chinese. The PLA use a myriad of SPGs in their ground force but their most recent one resembles a Russian 2S19 Msta more than a Paladin.

The “V” shaped markings are Chevrons.

Pictured here on the side of the tank

Their role is to indicate, that the tank is friendly as well as which company the tank belongs to. Apart from that, the two digit number(pictured above) shows which tank it is and which platoon it belongs to.

For example, if the digit was 42, then it was the 2nd tank of the 4th platoon. Finally, the Chevron can be either pointing up, down or sideways indicating whether it belonged to “Company A”, “Company B”, “Company C” etc.(Not respectively by the way)

The V shaped markings on American tanks are used for identification purposes as well as to tell which company and platoon the tank belongs to. A good example of this was during the Gulf War, where all friendly tanks used the V-shaped Chevrons for identification purposes.

What insignia ?

Are you taking about the red and yellow hazard paint on the rear of the tank, put there to stop tanks behind it from running up it's ass or mistaking it for something else..?

There is a youtube video that shows a train of tanks rolling though LA.
www.youtube.com...

At about 2:26, there is a group of M109 Paladin tanks and there is one that has this insignia.

A buddy of mine says that this is a Chinese insignia.
I don't know, but if someone can prove that is isn't, then I'll drop the rest of the conversation
that I had with him.

I was trying to find the same thing from the video i posted here. The same insignia, don't know what it is though. Can't find anything in 2 days of looking.

That's how most people see it, unless they have been around the military. There are days I want to strangle people and put them out of my misery.

i hear what your sayin. hell he even calls it a tank in the title. i was in the Corps and there was a lot of equipment that i called one thing when it was called another not knowing the difference until a drill instructor, platoon sgt, gunny or somebody showed me the errors that i made. and most times they weren't so polite.

"Can You Identify the Insignia on this tank"

No tank, and no insignia. What a let down.

As people have noted it's basically a giant bicycle reflector. They don't have brake lights or taillights.

One question answered

Where could so many be stored?
40.1950788, -120.1396062

Herlong California perhaps🙄 and many more locations. Not exactly Victorville, Tuscan or Hawthorne. But they need refurbished and stored somewhere.

Certainly got a big gun, but saying it has armour might be pushing it!
