Granted, these were tracked down hastily, I've been leafing through this for a long time now and am brainfried. Unless I've skipped over mentions in other sections, they're all under the following: TITLE VI—MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS. The section starts on page 606.

Anything pertaining to the Postal Service starts on page 606. Loan limit is $10,000,000,000. Ten billion bucks.

Anything pertaining to NASA starts on page 628. They get $60 million.

Anything pertaining to the House of Representatives starts on page 781. They get $25 million, with $5 million supposed to be held on to for virus stuff.

I do find it suspect that the FCC is getting $200 million. Wonder who they're going to crack down on. Edit: That's on page 670.

I’m sure there’s plenty of ways this money is going to be blown and passed around, but FWIW-

Ah okay so you cannot provide a credible source for the claim. Therefore I say then stfu and let the person I was talking to go ahead and respond then.

it gives money to the same corporations who don't pay taxes, ship jobs overseas, and screw us many ways over.

Is the money given to the corporations or loaned to them?

And what does this or any of your response have to do with my request? ...Not a damn thing.

I've paid my fair share of taxes in my lifetime so I'm not thanking anyone but my self.

This just came across my YouTube front page. This may be of some consolation to those in the United States.

A $2 trillion stimulus pack has been signed into law. Passed by both the house and Senate by overwhelming majority. 96-0 vote in the Senate.

Some of the features include:

$300 billion in direct cash payments to all US citizens earning less than $99,000 per year. $3,400 for a typical family of four.

$350 billion in job retention loans for small business with loan forgiveness available for businesses that continue paying their workers.

$250 billion in expanded unemployment benefits. A worker who has lost their job will receive 100% of salary for up to 4 months.

$500 billion in support to hard hit industries.

$100 billion to support doctors nurses and hospitals. (FEMA constructed 4 hospitals in 3 days in New York.)

$45 billion to disaster relief fund to support state, local, and tribal leaders.

$27 billion to develop vaccines, therapies, and other public health response efforts.

Boeing will be making plastic face shields and ventilators.

$3.5 billion to states to expand child-care benefits for health-care workers,1st responders, and others on front line.

$1 billion for securing supplies under the Defense Protection Act.

From what I read and from a personal perspective I think the dialog is hilarious in many ways but for the sake of the argument here is one dumb thing. This whole payout to individuals is stupid. It's a sliding scale from $1200 for those making $75000 or less in 2019 to $0 if you made $ 100k - a $25k difference in lifestyle. They pretend like this is a big difference while appropriating billions to private businesses. If you lost your job regardless of what you made last year you are screwed. This is stupid and we should be embarrassed.

My exact feelings since they announced the $1,200 payment. Obama sent us $250, but $1200 is a much better rebate.

Government estimates of "wealth" are never accurate. My job 2 months out of every year is to set up ObamaCare plans.

50 Year Old making $30,000 - Monthly Premium is $240 - Deductible is $2,500.
(You're poor. Government forces insurance companies to charge you less, and give you a lower deductible.)

50 Year Old making $50,000 or more - Monthly Premium is $750 - Deductible is $8,100.
(You're rich! You pay full price.)

I didn't say they were or weren't going to use the money to give themselves raises, I was just putting the pages out there for people wanting to check and see for themselves.

I will say that the claim it's going to support the Sgt at Arms is a bit of a laughable excuse, since the Sgt at Arms got a million extra to play around with.

Why wasn’t the post office any kind of a priority before the virus?
They had financial issues long before that.

And?

I was mentioning the ultimate benefit of the postal system regardless of cost. In a broader sense, it's a sacred service and possibly the last bastion of private communication.

That means something to me.

We're losing a lot here.

If we can reserve at least one, PROVEN fallback system that WORKS, instead of instituting a fully monitored society, MAYBE our children might retain something out of all this....

..and forgive us?
🤷🏽‍♂️

The unemployment aspects of the bill are so generous, many people will ask to be laid off in order to get a pay raise.

In South Carolina Lindsey Graham said that when you add the federal and state together it will come to $24 an hour for each laid-off person.

That’s kind of the point. Paying people to stay home. If it wasn’t enough, people would be breaking quarantine guidelines and going about their daily lives because they’d have to if they didn’t want to be evicted.

Yeah, and here I am using my additional hours of paid overtime graciously provided by corporate only to be told that I since I haven't been calling in that they have marked me as a no call no show for the entire past week.

Seems like they'd rather fire me.

This bill is literally pitched as providing liquidity to corps and citizens.

The source is the bill.

Is the money given to the corporations or loaned to them?

Some of the package is loans... In some cases those will be converted to grants if employees are kept on the payroll. If they're not kept on the payroll, than the government pays the employees until they get rehired.

You're welcome to take politicians at their word when they give soundbites justifying this by simply saying its loans.

I never will.

A bit of a gamble taking on a business loan and hoping for it to turn into a grant.

Hope to heck that the economy turns around before you have to lay off a employees, if not not only do you have to try and keep the business afloat, but now you’ve got an extra business payment to the SBA to make.

The problem in the economy is hidden in your comment.

People and businesses are strongly advised to carry months (a year is better) in liquidity in case something goes tits up. There are vast amounts of variables in life that can cause an oh sh** moment for anyone or any business. This months pay/revenue is never guaranteed.

At the risk of sounding insensitive... The biggest gambles were taken by people and businesses who assumed a safety net. If you don't have money, you are gambling that you'd be able to get or exercise a line of credit. You're relying that you will be able to use another party for your well being.

Now. We've admitted, not once, but twice in the past 2 decades that there should be an all encompassing safety net. I whole heartedly am against such a premise, but I'm clearly in the minority, so republic democracy wins against me. That aside, there will be something in another decade or so. It may not be a bank bubble, it might not be a virus, but there will be something again, because there always is.

We as a collective trust the government will be there to bail us out. Personal responsibility is now a taboo ideology. It's bigoted and mean. Suggesting people should entrust themselves, and only themselves in the worse possible moments is insensitive. But life doesn't care about your opinion on how this universe operates. Because I have news for everyone, even if you plan everything perfectly, it can still go wrong. That is reality. Thinking we just get bailout cards every few decades with no ramifications is a dream.... One we will all wake up from eventually, the only difference is if we are present for it, or if a generation we pass the buck to eventually gets to deal with it.
