But the intellectual dishonesty from the Left blaming Trump for all of this is massive.

No one is blaming Trump for the virus. Or for the economy tanking. We are blaming him for a piss-poor, botched handling of the crisis. He is doing everything he can to focus blame on China. China had NO warning. The virus popped-up, they figured out that it was new and dangerous and took measures to contain it. Trump had 3mos of advanced warning. Instead of doing anything he made jokes about it, said it was a hoax, and that it would go away like a miracle. It's in the public record. When the Feds sat on their hands, Governors began to act. Things would be far worse if they, too, had just sat around believing the smoked DJT was blowing up their collective behind. But there was going to be economic impact one way or another. The virus is going to bulldoze its way through the population. That's a certainty. What level of containment we're able to get is yet to be seen.

It's not about the Left. The only people on the planet that know about these things were systematically ignored and instead, we got Mike Pence and Jared Kushner. Trump refuses to listen to the experts.

The liberal media is ignoring the passage of the consumer stimulus package by the US house this afternoon.

They are still focusing on continuing to ratchet up up hysteria and panic.

Only Fox News is devoting time to the stimulus package Passage.

I don't think this is going to wrap up in 2 weeks, a few months I would buy, but not 2 weeks. We're just getting started on this train of infection and detection.

Me thinks governments and the people will be gagging to gat back to normal SO MUCH that it will bring about a second wave of this pandemic that will finish things off for good.

I'm staying put in isolation, not because of the virus but because of a world full of idiots.

Then I'm going house to house to pilfer all I can to lock down for good.

"Goodbye cruel world, I'm leaving you today....goodbye, goodbye, good....".

This isn't going to pass any time soon. The effects of it will hopefully gradually decline, but the virus is most likely here to stay, just like the common cold. The social and economic effects will be felt for many years. Just think of the millions of people around the world depending on tourism to feed their family. Planes won't be flying internationally for months, at least. Here in the West, we have the option of economic aid to the population, but imagine all the people who won't have that safety net. And that's just one sector.

Lot's of very long term effects down the road.

What's hilarious right now is watching the media desperately trying to focus on the total number of cases and comparing it to places like South Korea, which has a much smaller population. Of course we would get more cases than them.

Now, China reportedly had fewer cases than us, but who the # believes China's numbers? They have a documented history of lying about their number of casualties in everything from floods to famines to everything else.

The real number to be focused on is the death rate, and in that case we are doing just barely worse than South Korea. Also, take into account that South Korea did mass, randomized testing, whereas we're only testing people who are sick, which is going to artificially inflate our death rate. If we were testing the same way SK did, our death rate would probably be lower than theirs.

He is handling this in his usual manor. Find someone to blame and heap as much on them as you can. Lie and insult others then patting himself on the back.
Nothing different.

We have had failures at all levels of govt all across the west, to focus it all on 1 guy is stupid, by doing that you ignore the failures of the other party and leads to a rush to put the other party that also failed at all levels into power and that does nothing to help us the people.

ETA: and last bit is, after 8 years of its not obamas fault the precedent is set to not blame the president because his underlings failed, and that was a gawd awful stupid precedent for the democrats to make..

Too many under-qualified people offering their 'professional' ASSessment of the situation. We're only several days into the BEGINNING of the curve.

Recently, WHO reported that the time between symptom onset and death ranged from about 2 weeks to 8 weeks.

You have a ways top go before you can make your claims.

Wait. No warning? It STARTED in Wuhan, in a cesspool of filth and biohazards. How could they not anticipate something like this? Not to mention the biochemical plant nearby knowing what they've been working on could certainly cause havoc if it were transmitted from a carcass to another animal to humans? Come on. China wasn't forthcoming with their information either.

I think he (Trump) was absolutely on top of the information he had, good or bad, shutting down travel from China on Jan. 31st was very smart, and yet he got and still gets chastised by the Left for doing that. There are a lot of things he can't do, particularly closing states, that's the Governor's responsibility and a lot of them lagged way behind on it. Then they blamed Trump. And you guys keep repeating the false claim (debunked in several places) that he called the virus a hoax, he actually called the Democrats' politicizing and panic-filled reaction a hoax. And what you call calling it nothing at all was his way of trying to quell the panic the Dems and media were pushing. Did he use the right words? No. Did he do the right thing? Absolutely. Now put your TDS away for a while and let's give credit where it's due.

The correct thing to do was implement measures back in January, but the bankers and executives wouldn’t have liked that so across the west nobody did anything until it was too late.

The whole lot are guilty of criminal negligence and manslaughter.

When did governors start to act? Why didn't they spend those same 3 months Trump squandered to prepare their states? Why do you give them a pass for waiting until the last possible minute to act just because the Federal government was waiting?

No panic in Illinois. Just growing disgust, due to our crazy governor over-reacting to to a nothing-burger.

"The sky is falling" has been yelled for centuries. Sad to see our Gov Prickster buy into the drummed-up hysteria.

All due to a hyped-up computer forecast, who's author is now apologizing for being so wrong. Idiot.

We feel your pain in Michigan. Our idiot governor wouldn't know how to handle situations like this without constant direction from the libs in Washington. It's painfully obvious that she can't handle this one.

That's what the alarmists have been saying for like a month. "Just wait another 2 weeks, or 4 weeks, or something! It's gonna get really bad!"

Ya'll are starting to sound like the climate alarmists. Everything is 100 years away.
