Maybe we just manifested it...

If I was going to make a movie about a contagion I would probably use Ebola or a corona virus.
Maybe an alien virus.

Either way it is a coincidence as much as a logical path.

The problem there though is that it would hardly explain the likes of the Spanish flu nor any other significant pandemic throughout recorded history.

Unless of course, we manifest, the rest of reality ta boot.

Something like Covid 19 was always on the cards, as is evidenced by what took place 100 years in the past.

Humanity's penchant for refusing to learn from one generation to the next combined with the transportation hubs we now have all around the globe, and the infrastructure we have in place, and the proliferation of the pathogen around the globe is no wonder really.

Wolfgang Petersen did it with "Outbreak" back in 1995.

Then there was "The Andromeda Strain" back in 1971.

Yep,
Outbreak was Ebola
Andromeda was alien

I've had a theory for many years.
That human beings are incapable of imagining something that can not exist in some way.
If we can imagine it we can create it or it can be created.

It's likely not far from the truth, there's much we don't undersand about this reality.

To answer your question - NO - I do NOT believe in scoincidences.

And I do believe China released a bio-weapon on the world.

There ya go.

It's certainly still on the table as a possibility, if this is the case it can be dealt if and when we get this disaster under control.

The Crazies.... wasn't there a more recent remake of this? Or maybe just similar titles...
Movie I'm thinking of was released in the last four, maybe five years and starred Tim Olyphant (sp?). A military-sourced contagion somehow (I forget) gets released upon a rural middle-American community.
Main symptom of infection was homicidal psychosis.
Wasn't a terrible movie, didn't feel like a waste of time so that's a plus.

Simple fact: Global travel is easy. Really easy.
Simple fact: Global transmission of disease is easy. Really easy.

Both are obvious and people like to see scary movies.

I believe something along the same lines - we humans are infinitely more powerful than we know, both individually and (especially) as a collective.

BUT

What I REALLY wanted to address was that single sentence beneath your post. Not sure what it's called - tagline, personal quote, whatever... - but I've gotta admit that this one simple question has been such a hilarious mindrape for me. It's one part Confucius with a dash of Nietzsche and the remainder is pure George Carlin.
First time reading it I'm sitting there chuckling... thinking... some more chuckles with even deeper thought and then - before I'd even realized it was happening - the damned sentence had crept up behind me and was sniffing my hair.
Leastways, that's how it felt. I imagine the feeling is sorta like being violated for the umpteenth time by a serial rapist and seeing the experience as the most hilarious joke ever - while it's occurring.
