So I am a hypocrite because I say don't risk your life for the economy ? Ok.

do you (presuming you have a job) drive to work?
do you not take a "risk of your life for the ecomomy " doing this?
most jobs there is a risk (to varying levels) you could get killed on the job.

As if the economy was some kind of precious jewel or the pinnacle of human intelligence. In reality it is an ideological makeshift construct that we have inherited from past centuries and millennia. A little scare suffices to make it collapse and crumble, while in reality nothing has really changed : resources are still there, factories are still there, knowledge is still there..

interesting rant.
but factually and intelectually lacking.

people have to work to put a roof over their head, food on the table, closes on their back, ect.
an economy is the very thing that causes jobs and supplies us with all the things we use , eat, enjoy in life.
it is not an "ideological makeshif construct" but needed for any society of people to survive.
so unless you are totally off the grid and dont rely on ANYONE ELSE to live then your just spewing BS.

tell you what...
why dont you peddle this to a group of people (pick anywhere in the US) FACE TO FACE who right now are not able to work to get money to pay their bills, feed their families, ect and see what th outcome is.

its easy to spew this bs on a computer screen where you dont see the people effected by this crisis.

btw one other question

what do you do exactly for a living again and are you still working?

How can you have a functioning society of people without healthcare though?

What will happen if you all go back to work to save the economy, get the majority of the population infected with tens of millions having severe symptoms and completely overwhelming your healthcare system?

We all appreciate your devotion to minute (pronounced MY NUTE) changes to serve the greater good, but let me suggest this as a proper action:

1. Cancel all consumer debt.
2. That's all I can think of right now as I'm very drunk.

3. Add two zeros to everyone's bank account.
4. Unlimited free auto repairs.

first might I say an excellent civil question and engaging in discussion.
I appreciate it.

now on to your question...

your making a presumption on estimates of what might happen to our heathcare system if we dont take the actions we are taking now.

the problem with that thinking is that the hard numbers in the US on the corvid virus are not matching up with the predictions.

if the HARD NUMBERS of infection vs morality rate are not even close to the predictions being used how can then you say with any reasonable standing that if we dont take these actions that we will "overwhelm the heahtcare system"?

add to that I have posted over and over from the CDC itself the ACTUAL NUMBERS of infected, hospitalized, and deaths from the common flu not only in last two years and last 6 months of deaths.
but also the overall averages of those stats for the last 19 years .

in those stats the numbers (bluntly) blow the doors off the numbers posted by the corvid19 virus.
im many ways 10 to 100 times in number

given that the ACTUAL numbers are so great for "the common" flu and we no where near took the actions we are taking now and the heathcare (with maybe an exception somewhere, always is) was not "overwhelmed" I canot help but call the current actions overkill.

since we didnt seem to give a damn over the previous years of common flu why in hadies would we take the actions we are now with significantly less (even when the numbers go up) that is destroying the economic, educational , and employment of MILLIONS OF PEOPLE.

as I say again..

61,000 died last year and so far 11 thousand died this year (season not over) on the common flu.... no drastic action taken and no one seems to care.

almost 600 die from the corvid19 and its a national pandemic.

wtf

let it be known I dont want anyone to die, the death is a moment of sorrow, there will be more infected and dead.
nor am I saying no actions or precautions should be taken or that we should not watch this closely .
nor am I saying we should not take more drastic action
but ONLY IF NEEDED.

The ACTUAL NUMBERS (especially compared to the yearly flu) dont support current actions.

or to use another example.

you dont burn down a block of homes because one house has rats that have the plague.
the prediction is they will infect all the houses and harm the old people.
the hard numbers show the spread isnt as bad.
so do you still burn down the hourses (yes it would work) and when done no one has a hbome?
or do you use targeted tactics that minimize damage so people have a home to return to?
in short what does the most good with least harm

Well, tyranny has been a hallmark of all governments historically.

In the USA the FDR New Deal was essentially the outcome of national socialism.

So we were hardly different from Nazis or Soviets. FDR even did 4 terms, America worshipped him.

Hitler even said in his book he was inspired by the American eugenics programs.

Maybe we were always NAZIS and just hid it well via narrative control??

So, you are willing to kill yourself for the "economy" ? Like a slave would say to the other slaves: "tonight, I will open the doors to our cages, and I will fight the guards so you can all escape". What you call the "economy" is a social experiment rather than a real economy in the etymological sense of the word, which is supposed to economize resources and to spare human suffering. You should question who possess the means of production and why. So called experts want you to believe that economics is a real science but it's not, it's a social experiment just like slavery. An "expert in economy" could count the number of slaves and what they produce and the consumption rate of the masters and he will still be called an "expert in economy". Which is to say that what we call the economy today, is almost entirely based on ideological premises.

Now is the time to question the purpose of technology and the means of production.

No, you should be killing yourself for the "environment"!

5. Moratorium on tax debt or cancellation
6 Moratorium on rent, mortgage, and utilities.

If they did the first one cancel consumer debt, and all or a mixture of the other, people would start spending immediately.

One big countrywide financial mulligan.

Who's gonna scream the banks we bailed out. While some would learn to save their money and be frugal the vast majority would spend and speed up getting the economy going again.

To the government: You need to send out the checks now....and figure out how to pay for them later. You're the government....we know you can do it. This is a financial emergency right now.
Heck, put me in charge of the debit card printer and I'll crank out one for every man, woman and child on earth. Just let me at it.

Otherwise, send us seniors off to the Soylent Green factories.

So, you write checks that bounce.

Got it.

It is the Democrats who have delayed the bill by adding excessive pork.

The list is long and absurd. None of it relates to the crisis at hand.
