Because we, as a nation, did not have enough supplies stocked up to deal with something of this magnitude. It's not like we had a bunch of ventilators saved up and Trump threw them away. The Bush and Obama administrations did little to prepare for something like this. In all fairness, Trump didn't either. But to lay this all at his feet is asinine.

Get informed on the issue.

Back in January when the Administration was being warned by foreign governments and experts in infectious diseases and epidemiology of what was coming we had millions of sets of PPE and at least 17,000 ventilators stockpiled. Why did it take until the middle of March to get these sent where they are needed?

And where, exactly, would you have sent those ventilators in January? We had no idea where they would be needed.

Orange mad can't predict future, very very bad!

Pathetic.

As mentioned when should he have sent them out until recently we really didnt have a good grasp on where the major problem areas would be.

He might have sent them to NY to have LA, San Fran and San diego explode then they sit in a warehouse unused in NY and he gets blamed for that.

worst time to be a public leader is during a pandemic of any severity because no matter what happens you are wrong to some segment of the population.

That's precisely what emergency planning is all about. They know exactly where it is likely to start and how it will spread. They have been modeling this sort of thing for decades. You stage the equipment in the high probability areas knowing it can be reposition within 24hrs. High population densities that are international travel hubs to start. But leaving them in the warehouses is good management? And what, we hold onto pumps until AFTER the flooding starts? You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

Oh okay, so just guess where they will be needed, send them there, then if it flares up somewhere else you'd be bitching that he sent them to the wrong place.

There are lots of high density international travel hubs in the US. We simply don't have enough ventilators and stuff to preposition them everywhere they'd be needed. They need more in NY than we had in the entire national stockpile.

This came from Asia. You would've thought the west coast hubs like LA would be hit hard and we'd have sent a bunch of supplies there. Then what do you do? Take them away from California to send to New York? Then you'd be bitching about that.

You're just bitching to bitch because it's Trump. Blame Obama and Bush for not building up the national stockpile to levels that could handle something like this.

So your OK with that $500 billion “Exchange Stabilization Fund” AKA slush fund that the most corrupt president in history will be the one overseeing it and deciding who gets it. There is nothing stopping him from awarding his own company billions of dollars.

Not sure who would want Trump to be in charge of something like that.

Lol you have some wild imagination...you dont think the Democrats will ask to see a receipt for w everything?

Trumps business will get its fair share as they will be under heavy scrutiny.

If you let Democrats write the #ing bill from start to finish, months from now they'd claim Trump benefited from it and completely leave out the fact that they wrote it, and the media and left wingers here would lap it up.

I have to give credit where its do... Chucky managed to do something right, it wasn't just the presidents family that is barred from getting a loan.

Under the proviso, businesses owned by members of Congress, Vice President Mike Pence, and top members of the executive branch would also be excluded from the bailout.

I am ok with this..

I hope the American public sees how irrational that Pelosi is. This pandemic should not be used to get pet project funding, she is a criminal.

Petroleum reserve purchase

The final version of the Senate’s coronavirus stimulus package left out billions of dollars that had been planned for the Department of Energy to go toward replenishing the nation’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve.

This I dont get, WHY when the cost is so low would you not buy up the oil needed to top off the reserve, this is one of the few times a rider isn't an abhorrent thing to me, the strategic reserve is a matter of national security.

Am i getting this right?:

Republicans want $500billion to bailout out corporations.

Democrats want to pass various non-related laws under this relief aid.

Am i right to say that both Democrats and Republicans are screwing us?

It's almost humorous seeing airplanes flying almost empty, with passengers being able to sit wherever they want to. Just talked to a lady who's flying to Phoenix (from Chicago) for $17.00 round-trip. Couldn't resist going to visit her sister for 4 days.

Were it not for the promised Government "bailout", the airlines would lay off most employees and cut way back on flights.

So you're saying previous administration's, also hadn't ironed out these agencies ? It's not like Trump invented FEMA. instead of pointing a fingers let's ask why these agencies after X years and XX billions of dollars still are inept.

And they got it too the funding for the Arts on the backs of a catastrophe.

They held the country hostage until they got their way. Then screamed about the Republicans as deflection.
