We need to observe and assess the situation.

Tactical patience.

The hardcore Trump supporters don't seem to have a memory

Now Trump is saying that the corona virus is very serious.

In the past he was saying it's a hoax.

The reality is that Trump does not seem to understand science and doesn't listen to his advisors.

If he had perhaps our country would be better prepared for the Corona virus

Well, yes. But more importantly.

We need to demand transparency before giving up our rights and collapsing the economy. We dont blindly trust "our guy" doing it.

How can we observe and assess the situation if the government will not answer basic questions, and when so many people are saying its immoral or dumb to demand the government answer those questions before collapsing the economy and locking down huge sectors of the country?

Regardless of what legislation is finally passed, at least 2 trillion in new money will be printed and likely used only within the US. There is no means to export inflation right now and a zero percent interest rate.

Whatever money they print I'm spending on crypto, gold, and silver.

You don't want a President who can think on their feet?

You don't want a President who can change their mind when circumstances show the need for it?

You don't want a President who is flexible and able to try or do new things when new evidence arises?

Okay, if that's what you say you want.

Oh, you want someone like Pelosi, who is holding the relief bill hostage so she can throw in pork for Democratic districts instead of passing the bill and passing a 2nd one later. I get it now. Let the people suffer because you are unwilling or unable to change or rethink positions if it doesn't benefit your particular political party. That seems to be the Democratic way these days. Unchangeable, uncaring about others because you are unwilling or unable to change when circumstances demand it. Kind of like the Russians and Chinese, logical since communism is the logical extension of socialism.

I don't disagree.

These lockdowns are coming from state officials mind you. All Trump has done is declare a state of emergency and freed up resources within the executive branch.

I do not believe the president wants to collapse the economy.

If it's lifted after 15 days...I expect they'll have people begging government to lockdown again and take it more seriously, next time.

They have to make it easy for themselves by making sure we're all terrified of freedom.

I saw that quote, thats what the OP is about.

I am not sure I understand why trump should not be criticized for praising the lockdown, as long as hes not the one who put them in pklace.

He has the ability to fight back against them, but is instead cheering them on.

Of course doesnt want to intentionally kill the economy; many of the dems do. Trump is just helping them achieve their goal, either out of fear, incompetence, or maliciousness.

What if trumps says he wants to lift it but dr fauci is against that?

Will all of the trump supporters who shouted we have no idea how many people this virus could kill, so we have to listen to doctors like dr fauci say trump is wrong because he is not a doctor?

Lol, you insult and demean anyone who believes differently than you. I presumed it was the hate that consumed you. Either way, I agree anarchism is the way.

This is a rapidly evolving GLOBAL crises. Look at Iran and Italy having to dig mass graves. In Italy even young people are dying. It is evolving and changing.

It is idiotic to think these rapidly changing events can be made public as soon as they occur just to make liberals/progressive/Democrats happy they are in on everything the monster President is doing TO them. Which is the current liberal/progressive/Democratic Party thinking of the day.

How self centered to think you are the center of the universe and that transparency means YOU must know every global rapidly evolving thing that happens within moments or you are being deceived.

The information MUST be filtered for accuracy, especially these days, with China lying and sending out a massive disinformation campaign, and social media repleat with weirdo lies purposely spread with glee and malice.

The information the government
(in this case the much despised/loathed/and hated Trump administration by Dems and liberals, who attribute only the worst kind of evil and dark malice to)
gives us should be timely, but as accurate as possible,
and that means NOT instantaneous.
The information and decisions the government makes should be made public,
but should also be flexible as the situation changes
as rapidly as it has been changing.

To demand otherwise is foolish, self-centered,
and infantile thinking you are the center of the world
and have a right to know everything the moment it occurs,
or the government is deceiving you and is evil.

Flexibility must be the name of the game
in rapidly changing global circumstances.
To do otherwise, is foolish and dangerous.

Yep. Demanding the government answer questions before destroying the economy and putting people on lockdown is selfish

Maybe he's balancing between keeping people alive and not destroying the economy. Maybe this is unprecedented in our lifetimes.

This is why unity is so important right now. We're literally placing everything on the shoulders of president Trump and expecting nothing of ourselves.

We will rebuild and move on. This crisis is not permanent.

This comment is at the heart of one of the questions I have.

Who benefits from a collapsed economy, and how? I feel like this is key to understanding why the feds and states have taken the route they have.
