I heard that. And so did the entire world. Awesome!

It was pointed out earlier today how Governor Cuomo squandered billions of dollars on projects that never were completed.. all the while allowing the terrorists number one target in America, to be totally vulnerable to all manner of attacks.

All of this spend Billions and Billions of someone elses money is a long game strategy to defeat Western style Freedoms.
Because they need those funds for their activities and to make the proletariat feel the pain so they will be pliable to suggestions.

HRC's hero Sal Alinsky's school of thought was to "bankrupt the target country", I recall. Sal's "Rules For Radicals" is a lot of the Dem's playbook for you lefties out there hiding like ostriches in plain sight. We see the plan and that is why we win the debates here on ATS. True believers in ATS use facts to trump lies. That is a win win any day.

Big upgrade for the army those are newly built M1A2 Abrams I believe we see there. I have a friend from my college dorm days who saw the purchase a while back and used the info for investment reasons. He was telling me about it last night that the Russians had beat our M1A1 with their latest design of robotic turrets and better armor defense.

Also, it's been discussed to death here. Have you just not been around?
I'd estimate close to 20 (give or take) pages have been clogged up with unnecessary back and forth about his credibility, or lack thereof.

It's usually gonna be emojis or other symbols and characters that your phone or device do not have supported or downloaded

In my experience as an Android user, it's often Apple brand emojis from people that my phone doesn't like that cause me to see these boxes.

Having a minority investment in a company that will bring in money in the form of dividends isn't socialism. It's just prudential investing. He isn't talking about nationalising any of them, or even taking majority ownership of them.

What's the difference between someone like Warren Buffett investing $40b into a company and the US government doing the same thing? Why shouldn't the government be able to get a return on the money of the taxpayer? That was the big mistake they made in the bailouts of GM etc. - there was no accountability to how they spent the money because companies are only concerned with what is best for shareholders. And what was best for shareholders was increasing profits by shifting manufacturing to China and Mexico.

A system where the government takes a tiny equity position in various companies, for example, could be the difference between Social Security and Medicaid being out of money by 2025 (which is what is going to happen if nothing changes) and having enough money to allow everyone in the US to be able to afford their own private healthcare through the elimination of payroll tax.

Taxes are the domain of socialism. Equity is the domain of capitalism. Equity is what makes a company accountable for its actions.

For mine, it's using the system of capitalism up to a government level to prove that communism/socialism is fundamentally flawed.

It's not the role of the federal government - any government for that matter - to own stock in a business.

Remember Obama "investing" in those solar panel and other businesses during that downturn? Most went bankrupt, the CEOs made millions, and the taxpayer lost everything.

Government

(a) isn't set up to properly anaylze the risk of investment in any particular industry or company;

(b) has unlimited funds so it can force-purchase a business whenever it wants, to the detriment of private investment / competitors (it could do this to drive competitors out of business, such as buy a business in an industry that relies heavily on government contracts, then take contracts away from competitors to give to its "own" business);

(c) there would be no recourse against government for imprudent investments; and

(d) government's goals in "investing" in a business would be fundamentally different than private investors, see point (b) in terms of shaping the future course of said business. Rather than meeting market demands, government could use a business to acheive other goals not market related (e.g., buying a pesticide company then shuttering it because the current administration believes pesticides are bad).

There is nothing in the Constitution allowing the government to own shares in a business.

You're right, of course. But ask yourself the following:

What if outside governments had already owned stock in those businesses? Do they have the same restrictions? Could they use state sponsored companies and individuals to massively inflate prices?

What if the price of those stocks would decrease significantly if the government didn't step in, to the point where pensions and retirement plans were wiped out? The primary role of government is to protect the people whom it serves.

What do you think Saudi Arabia does with all their money? Qatar? Look at all the shell companies that are used and their relationships with Wall St.

What do you think China does? What's the easiest way to launder drug money? Why do institutions have to sign an anti-money laundering form before opening a trading account?

What do all these celebrities do with all their money?

In a perfect world, its not the role of government to own equity in companies, because the government wouldn't need to do so. But this world is extremely corrupt, and if you ask me what is better - government owning a small stake in a company vs that companies stock price falling through the floor and completely wiping out the pension and retirement funds of millions of Americans who have invested in them (bearing in mind that pretty much every airline is part of the S&P 500, and Berkshire Hathaway owns a stake in pretty much all of them) - I'm taking the lesser evil.

BUT with the caveat that as they company pays back the money to the government, they buy back the stock at the market price, which retains the value.

Remember what the President said - the cure cannot be worse than the disease. He wasn't just speaking about COVID-19. It's all well and good to get rid of all these foreign interests from the US, but as they are eliminated and withdraw capital from the market, a vacuum is created.

I disagree with this premise:

The primary role of government is to protect the people whom it serves.

Take that premise out of your argument, then the rest fails.

Example: if a foreign government tries to own/control a business, and that business is run well and serves a need, provides a good product, the business will be successful - the market will reward it.

If that business is not run well, or is used for nefarious reasons, the market will not reward it with customers, market share, or investors.

You have certainly identified a potential problem, but I disagree that the first and only solution is a government one.

If anyone is still thinking he's somehow connected to this, he actually is. But not for the reasons he claims. If you go check his linkedin profile, you'll find that he is affiliated with CrowdStrike. He's not just a fraud, he's a shill. It couldn't possibly be any more clear at this point. Q himself has spoken to it and rebuked him. It's time to move on. His thoughts about ET aren't special either.

Besides, none of this matters anyways. He's gonna do what he's gonna do and what he's gonna do isn't gonna work. His game here appears to be to somehow discredit Q but it's already failed. He's been roundly rejected. What is particularly frustrating as it all pertains to this thread is that if folks consider what his obvious game is here, they should understand that his attempts to subvert Q couldn't possibly work if people just ignored him. But people refused to let us do just that. In fact, now that Q himself has verified Austin cannot be a part of the effort, we still have people trying to keep him in the conversation.

Anyways, rant over. Frustrating as heck.
