Are the Pubs in favor of not having the the poorest affected receive help? Because that's what McConnells plan does.

Do "the poorest" receive income from jobs and pay taxes? If so, they would receive a check too.

I was listening to NYC mayor DeBlasio and NY Gov Cuomo on MSNBC tonight. They are demanding that at least $50 Billion dollars be sent directly to New York State and New York City...and many billions more to states/cities across the country, because this Covid-19 pandemic is causing them to lose lots of money.

In other words fewer than 500 deaths from Covid-19 in this country since death #1 occurred on February 8th, is flushing them all down the crapper.

SUUURRRE!

It is in the country's interest to provide an effective response rather than one that will garner votes.

To do so, you have to take a rational and considered approach. Throwing money at things when the country is already bankrupt isn't the way.

lay out the way forward. I want to see a #ing detailed plan from you. Give us a step by step program of what to do, or perhaps you should shut the # up.

You aren't going to flatten the curve. When the exponential growth hits, it will still be exponential just delayed.

There needs to be massive medical support to manage the cases (nearly everyone is going to get it) rather than to futilely try and defer it.

At some stage, we will have herd immunity when enough have survived the virus. If we know that the numbers infected are likely to be close to the total population no matter what we do, we should ensure that the maximum can survive, which at this stage involves lots of oxygen tanks, respirators, beds and nursing.

All Working Class Citizens of America...Prepare Yourselves!

POTUS tonight declared a State of War.

Many didn't realize the gravity, because planes hadn't just sunk our Pacific Fleet.

This time our enemy is in the shadows.

They are attacking us economically in congress, and biologically at our places of work.

WE THE PEOPLE will fight, and we will WIN!

Because I pay taxes and am not "wealthy"....Yes. But its looking more doubtful that anyone will get a stimulus check.

Democrats are figuring out ways to say "NO!"...no matter what concessions Republicans make.

They do not want people to have even the perception, that the Trump Administration cares about them.

White House advisor Larry Kudlow said this week on Wall Street would make prior losses look minor, if Congress continues to bicker and seize-up like its done over recent years. If they can't rise to the ocassion in the face of this pandemic crisis, America is phucked, as a nation.

Then you have nothing to say. Blanket generalizations don't help. There are lots of people out here who don't qualify, who should. But that's not your problem though.

Carry on with your political baiting.

Are you guys bitching about the Dems in this thread even looking into why they aren’t signing?

Like I said previously, I don’t like Pelosi (as much as I don’t like McConnel) but they’re not signing because the wording of the bill opens it up to be a slush fund for corporations, without even having to report what corporations are getting it, even if they’ve already got billions in loan debt. Add to that, there’s nothing in it protecting American workers from not getting the axe after their employers are bailed out. No BS about planned parenthood or infrastructure.

If you’re all so worried about the government finding ways to screw over the American public, why get pissed at the Dems when they’re holding off from signing something that completely opens itself up to screwing over the American public?

If you want to admit you’re just blindly hating on the opposing side because that’s the thing to do, then have at it. But crying that they’re out to screw over the common man when they’re literally doing the exact opposite is bullish!t.

As for unemployment, 2,250,000 people signed up for it last week. I’ve never relied on it, even at times I should have, so I don’t know how it works in this situation. I do indeed hope that it will apply in situations where, though technically employed, people cannot go to work. It’s no ones choice to not work right now and in this situation, that should be enough.

We need to make much of what we need in this country to stabalize our economy. We can import the wants but in a crisis, we have to fill our needs.

Trump has been right from the beginning..

Secure the borders.
Bring manufacturing home..

The very reasons I voted for him and will again in November

All politics are local. If someone wants to get a stimulus check, but doesn't qualify, its within their right to complain...and to vote for a candidate who promises to never let them fall through the cracks.

Well, it aint gonna be the Pubs then. Imagine if you "fell through the cracks" in this bill. We'd never see the end of threads complaining about it.

Peloser and the left wing democrats are pathetic, useless POS that care more about partisan politics and their own socialist agenda.
This is just campaigning as usual for them, to hell with the people!

What is her issue? Isn't she the one that said we need to pass it before we find out whats in it? Or is she now saying she needs our guns and ammo before we can pass it?

Unemployment gives 25% of one's take home pay. So if you take home 1k a week, unemployment gives you 250 a week.

Who can live on 250 a week?

If you actually read something instead of listening to carewemust’s ranting, you’d see they’re not signing because they’re concerned the money will go right to the corporations while leaving nothing for you when they’re done.

Sure, you can be hopeful whatever corporation you work for will get a few billion and cut you a check for $1200 themselves, but how likely is that?
