Its possible to take a multi day road trip if you pack dry milk, cans or pouches of cooked chicken or tuna. Coffee and water. Bread, some sweets, some cereal and sugar.

That can fit in one backpack and feed a couple people for a few days.

Ive done it as a truck driver. Im local now but I still carry all my meals and snacks /liquids. I imagine restocking would be a pain in the ass, but they need to adjust and start to carry their meals and anything else they might need.

Pack like soldiers. Lots of coffee and water.

Be safe out there.

Far too many drivers work for companies that will simply fire them, then hit their DAC with an abandoned equipment entry if they try. It'll be damn hard to find another job after that.

At one truck stop a local gourmet food truck company has set up two of their food trucks to replace the restaurant for the truckers.

And the truckers love the gourmet food trucks

Even if you had the attention of everybody that had the power to change the laws... I defy you to write a law that's going to accomplish the things that you want to accomplish.
