The world needs to disband the massively expensive defense budgets all across the planet and convert their military members to medics and defeat this disease and when it's over do not return to the massive defense spending.

Live in peace!

We have been a temporary resource for a long time now,

Just hope they find a way to use us after the reset.

Completely unrealistic.

The U.S. military alone has roughly 2 - 2.5 million members and you want to train them all to be medics ?
What do they do when this panic.. er I mean pandemic.. is over ? Do you have a plan to find jobs for that many in the medical field ?
How about the jobs of workers in defense related industries ?

I could go on and on, but you get the point.

Cam down. Wash your hands and above all... STOP PANICING.

Yes, and this crisis just shows how our whole social system is not prepared for something like that. The economic crisis is already starting, but nothing has really changed, no infrastructure, or industry or factory has been destroyed, no natural resources have magically disappeared. Our economic system is based on ideology, despite so called experts claiming that economics is a real science. For example, Italy seems not prepared at all for something like what is happening, and some say that it's because of years of economic austerity and cuts in public services, and they have now to choose who deserves ventilators the most. France for example is right now thinking about nationalizing some strategic companies that produce this or that very important device or accessory to help fight the virus.

It's harsh to say, but we need a crisis like that to understand that neoliberalism will not protect us. We realise that we have all the technology we need to produce almost anything we want in large quantities, but because technology is hijacked by private interests, we are left with fewer options. If there is no profit to be made, no one wants to do it. We are a socially retarded species compared to the level of sophistication and efficiency of our science and technology. Stupid apes playing with bazookas.

neoliberals turning into keynesians in times of crisis is always a funny thing to watch

This is, of course, is a dream or some might say pipe dream.

It’s a logistic as well as a moral ideal.

If all the countries diverted all the money they spend on their militaries to this problem it would heavily relieve the financial burden the world will take.

Almost 2 trillion a year is the world’s military budget and the US is about 40 percent of that
All that money or some of it may have to be used for this to make it easier on the economy and the logistical and financial nightmare going on.

The military can help in food distribution and maintenance and medical logistical and food chain needs within a particular country.

The country or world needs to shut down for a month.

The problem isn’t that we don’t want to live in peace. The problem is there are others in the world that won’t live in peace. Don’t be naive.

This ideal applies to the whole human race’s conundrum of wars that usually maim the bodies and soul of our youth.

The advocacy of efforts at seeking universal peace are now so rare I really am speaking about only a dream, I understand that. And of course, any world pact to have an arms reduction has to be based on exact information.

Sure, some wars are just, though many are wars of conquest or defense, and some in that hazy ground in between right and wrong.

I’m not a pacifist, but looking at the whole picture we have to one day decide as a species that war is not the way and dismantle the institutions that encourage it....ALL OF US!

Or we don’t have much of a future.

Remember Reagan said what if an alien race came down on us, we would unite.
Here is not an alien attack, as far as we know, but a biological one, wherever it really came from; a Chinese market or research lab somewhere.

But the idea of world unity is now at the forefront: will humans come together or fall further apart.

Look around this planet. There isn't even one GD country
that's completely united. Not to mention the Muslims will only
unite with the rest of the world if it converts to Islam. I'd rather
it all just go in crapper before I give into that retarded insanity.
