Question... If a company is about to go bankrupt but some investors think that giving the owners of the company a loan could perhaps benefit their portfolio, does that make investors socialists?...

Are those investors the government?

I’m sick of Republicans and their “socialism”. Wanting daddy government to send them free money. Stop expecting the government to step in and take care of you. This is ‘Murica. If you lost your job because of the Coronavirus, tough crap. Pull yourself up by your bootstraps.

Maybe you should have saved up and planned ahead for something like this instead of expecting the government to step in and save you. This country doesn’t owe you anything. Do nothing Republicans want my hard earned tax money to go to a bunch of people sitting at home doing nothing. Communist!

What’s next? Some Bernie Stalin plan to make healthcare available to most people? Something something guns. Guns guns personal responsibility.

Communist!

I hope this was sarchasm, because everything you just described is on the Democrat side of the fence. The Republicans are opposed to everytihng you just said and have nothing to do with Socialism or Commuism and despise Bernie Sanders. Democrats are also notorious for looking for free hand outs and wanting everyone to work while they sit around on their butts laughing at the working class. This is common knowledge so much in fact, that I am floored that you could actually accuse Republican's of this. You're either joking, but forgot to leave a red flag suggesting that...or you are not bright at all. Were you possibly drinking when you wrote this and just got the two mixed up? Every bit of what you said makes about as much sense as Trump and Nancy Pelosi sleeping together.

I have a question for you Augustus, that i think can help clear up some confusion, specifically in understanding how you are conceptualizing socialism.

Do you think a family is socialist? or Socialism? Would you frame, or describe or label the way a normal family functions and behaves as socialism? Would you use the word socialism as the predominate word to characterize the nature of a family? Or that a family uses "socialistic" governance etc.. Obviously what I'm referring to is how families redistribute money and share money, amongst its various members, with some variance depending on the age of the members of course. As well as the various other ways a family is structured or functions.

I just wanted to stop in to say how retarded this argument/rant is, and that it makes me very happy inside knowing your types are losing political power quickly and will never be allowed near it again for the foreseeable future.

Even when Trump helps the poor hardworking Americans you claim to care so much about, you find a way to twist it into a venom filled rant.

Bottom line: you need help man.

Well, according to the prevailing political experts, the Trump administration is a Fascist regime, so...corporation, government...its all the same.

No, that's optional. When government does it it's not optional and therefore socialism.

They could be described as many things by different people i suppose. But i just wanted to bring forth a manner of analyzing and judging things that i use. Which involves looking at things as expressions or projections of each other. Which is then used to judge the merits of it, or whether it is right or wrong, good or evil, or at least an understanding for why you are seeing what you are seeing.

So to put it simply it would be person > family > nation. Each of those systems you would see patterns (behavior, actions, organization, rules, etc..) which in essence are the same. Because they are all extensions of the same thing. And then this is just used to raise warning bells if something is advocating a breaking of the chain so to speak. Where it's being claimed something in the chain should be doing things "differently." To where by consequence it's not even a part of the same thing anymore. Then you just have to ask why someone would want that pattern to be interrupted. So that is the line of reasoning.

I thought you wanted to clear up confusion?

You just muddled it up even more.

The topic of the thread is simple, some conservatives call all government handouts socialism and call people socialist/communist when they propose or support these types of programs, now that the current admin has proposed the same thing, they get to be called out in the same fashion if they support it.

Muddled how? People can play all the word games they want. They can call anything whatever they want. Doesn't make it true. Words mean something, and not any one person is the god supreme authority who determines what words mean. Or at least most certainly not any of the current stock of humans on earth

I agree some people may be hypocrites, but not everyone is. You cant just say everyone who is against "socialism" has to therefore be against what the current admin is doing. People need to understand the difference between abstract concepts and actual manifestations, and have to actually understand what people mean when they say something, instead of just projecting your own ego onto them.

So many false dichotomies, to keep everyone as slaves, and to confuse their thinking. Communism, capitalism, simply words, made up by humans. Very recently to, i may add. And no you do not just get to make up a word, and then claim i have to use it to describe some aspect of reality, especially not without any explanation.

And yes i know, you can define anything however you want, and if you want to do that, and then project that onto other people, to feel morally superior, just to stick it to someone else, to stroke your own ego, and point the finger to call them a hypocrite, go ahead. Be immoral. But perhaps it would be wise to get the plank of dust out of your own eyes first.

How about this, I just made up a new word, it's called greyism, and what the current admin is doing fits in line with greyism, so therefore it is greyism, not socialism. It is greyistic policies.

The whole "breaking of the chain" was confusing. I can't see what it has to do with the topic of the OP.

Nobody can just change the meaning of words but a group of people can use a word, so that in that context, it can differ from the original.

The OP used the meaning given by a particular group to point out that they would also support something similar, and then they try to justify it by using grayism, but to an objective observer it does seem hypocritical.

The breaking of the chain was just a phrase to describe when someone, lets just say is advocating "redistributing wealth" in one system but not another or vice versa, i.e. advocating it for a family but not the nation. I was just explaining why I asked augustus the question that i did.

And in regards to communism, i just think simply it is a system with many parts, and you cant just take one of its parts and say thats communism. Because as with most things, the parts are not exclusive. Just like with people, you have your name, i have mine, and one part of us is lets just say an arm. An arm though is not one and the same as us, nor can you just label "arms" with your name. And then when im talking about my arm, you say im talking about you.

But what we are seeing is the nature of the beast, i dont know what anyone else could expect, when a nation grows so large, with so many disparate peoples. There is a reason ancient philosophers noted that democracies often divulge into dictatorships. So i think the people to blame are those that made choices that led us to this point, where the only way to even keep the country from collapsing is through such measures. I would say those are the people who can be called commies, or at least the commies found them very useful.

That is what the group mentioned in my last post did and that was what was being thrown back at them.
