Hello friends!

Take this for what it's worth. I've been on the boards for quite some time. Pretty quiet over the last few years... but those of you who know me, know I that I'm not one for hyperbole and definitely wouldn't just make something up. So, this crazy thing just happened...

A business partner and friend of mine messaged me to call him ASAP. URGENT! Thinking it was business-related, what he told me took me by surprise. A family member of his just got out of a meeting, with the PRESIDENT, and told him that the US is about to go into martial law. It'll start today with an announcement at 3 (i think) but will be just curfew and shut down suggestions leading to full blow martial law within 48 hours. No travel between state borders. Curfews. That kinda #

I thought maybe this was bs but I just saw that the president was scheduled a governors meeting today.

My friends says a minimum of 3 weeks.

For my fellow alcoholics, you might wanna hit the liquor store!

Take it with a grain of salt, I'm just giving info from a trusted friend with political ties. Stay safe!

Cool story.

Nothing like more bull**** fearmongering to rile people up.

I believe it. I heard Governor Cuomo practically demand it from the Federal Government, this morning in his address.

I'll go out on a limb and call bs.

However cant pretend that things weren't leading up to it.

Also still watching for banks to close their doors because of something other than a bank run which is what I think we are being diverted from.

I heard it was eight weeks, with drone government cheese delivery and Dalek's patrolling the neighborhoods for people with fevers.

I got several emails from my banks and creditors last week on the "Corona Virus", assuring customers that all is well, but also urging customers to use ATMs cautiously and recommended taking advantages of online services as much as possible.

Makes sense. I think withdrawls from atms are sub 1000 daily.

Not to add to the fear mongering but the owner of our company called a meeting this morning and said he caught wind of possible mandatory quarantine being announced within the next 24-72 hours. Said that if it goes into affect he’s going to sign our pay checks for the next two weeks the day it’s announced to help us all out.

How in the world can they shut down state to state travel?

We still need goods delivered.

And you certainly can't stop the ag industry. People need to eat.

And they need people to fix the vehicles hauling.

Yeah, can't see it.

I wish this was BS, but it’s not. I’m hearing the same from many other sources. I’ve been trying to stay positive throughout this ordeal. My positivity is gone.

Yesterday, California's governor announced the closure of restaurants, bars and wineries, and that seniors over 65 should stay home, not leave their homes. A reporter "sent a question through", asking how he planned on enforcing these rules. His answer was vaguely "We'll do whatever it takes".

Cuomo this morning blasting the Federal Government for not having a national policy, the run on grocery stores nation wide and the public panic over food supplies...up to now grocery chains have had to crowd control and put limits of how many toilet paper packages and packages of meat people can buy at one time. But, that's not their job!

I would be surprised if Trump didn't declare Martial Law.

Didn't the president declare a national state of emergency?
www.whitehouse.gov...

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States, by the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including sections 201 and 301 of the National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1601 et seq.) and consistent with section 1135 of the Social Security Act (SSA), as amended (42 U.S.C. 1320b-5), do hereby find and proclaim that the COVID-19 outbreak in the United States constitutes a national emergency, beginning March 1, 2020.

www.theatlantic.com...

i do not think a specific declaration would be necessary after the proclamation of a national emergency?

Under Martial Law, the Federal Government can enforce a national curfew and manage food supplies and distribution chains.

What possible purpose would that have? Recommending that we all self-quarantine to help slow down the spread is one thing, I think you'd see a major uprising if it led to country-wide curfews.

Time will tell. I have never seen anything quite like this. I wouldn't be surprised.

Folks, we saw the president walk out with the heads of CVS, Walgreens and WalMart. They have all signed on to help the US. To stay open. He just reversed legislation to allow for trucking to by pass restrictions.

The government has done this in waves.

First it was colleges. Then local schools. Then it was sports. Then theme parks. Then international air travel. Now it is restaurants and bars. Next it will be curfews. Then it will be domestic travel. If you do it over the course of two-three weeks it is 'accepted' much easier by the general public..as well as the media. I am sure CNN has the bits cued up when it is finally announced.

I know that in the industry I am in people are very very worried that everything in the US will effectively shut down for the next 2-3 months.

Nothing we can do but ride it out and hope it does not affect anyone close to us.

Remember, they shut down Boston over a terror attack.

State governments are already ordering retail stores and restaurants, etc., to close at 8pm. A national curfew appears to be coming.

Look, if you know me, you know that it's not like me to come on here with Doom Porn. I trust my source is telling the truth and I can only imagine that a family member would send out a warning such as this if he/she didn't actually believe it.

So, yeah, take it for what it's worth. His storyline adds up based on what's unfolding today.

My husband is a CPA, specializing in restaurants. Last night he got the word that virtually 100% of his restaurant clients are fulling shutting down their restaurants until this is over. Therefore, he won't be processing their daily bookkeeping and payrolls. Basically, my husband's CPA office has been temporarily laid off, including his 6 employees.
