MGM is in the process of closing down all properties.

We've had a local suspicion here that we've had it going around since December with all the Chinese national gamblers that visit as tourists.

So many realities are being shattered this year.

I'm not too sure we can recover from this. Sociologically, economically or even mentally for some.

More than ever before, we really need each other through this crisis. Let's not forget that.

I seriously thought things were taking a turn for the better. I feel sorry for everyone who's going to get laid off or get their hours cut.

I also heard from someone who works at Walmart that stores might close for 2 weeks starting next Friday. Hopefully it doesn't come into frution, and/or other retailers don't follow suit. Although why they might do that is completely understandable.

If Wal-Marts close for two weeks that would be interesting to watch.

The average person would lose their #$%# minds.

Wal-Mart comes into small towns and eventually run the local shops out of business.

In some towns, Wal-Mart is legitimately the only large retailer.

Some people have a reason to freak out if that happens.

I've not been to a Wal-Mart in 2 decades.

The nearest one from me is 85 miles away.

You don't need a large retailer to live.

ETA... my wife worked in Vegas as a VIP services person for a long time so she has a lot of friends there and she's talking to them now on Linkedin and Facebook.

THEY are freaking out as well... doesn't seem good for the short term.

You should see the Walmarts here in the valley. Even though there are tons of alternative groceries, they seem to be the go-to places for most people.

We are currently in the early stages of Idiocracy as a nation.

I once lived in Oklahoma and we had a freak snowstorm and it was 20 below... people were told they were going to be stuck in their homes for a few days.

I was driving to work that morning (TY Jeep for some of your fine products) and noticed a little Hyundai had tried to plow through a foot of snow with street tires, so was hopelessly stuck.

The husband was out shoveling the snow from the front of the car with tears streaming down his cheeks.

I stopped and asked him if he was OK and what the problem was. I noticed he had a wife and 3 small children in the car as well.

He looked at me and with a trembling voice said " We HAVE to get to Wal-Mart"!

I pulled him out with my Jeep and he sped off, careening between the ditches.

THAT is when I realized that I had to move out of the state.

People don't think anymore... he jeopardized the lives of his wife and kids to....

Get to Wal-Mart.

There was a local grocery store that he had passed on his way there.

~sigh~

Maybe it's time to take a vacation to Vegas. I haven't been there in a while. Rates should be good so long as the hotels stay open.

I asked a friend who is a dealer at a local casino if they were closing..I was amazed to hear they have not talked about it at all. She said it's slow in the morn, but by the afternoon, full of mask wearing Asians.

Might as well be heroin addicts.

It has not hit my area yet, but southern Idaho reported one case two days ago, and every big box store sold out of toilet paper and water the next day. Most of the small stores were out too by the end of the day.

The last thing I want to do is go to the store and be around other people. This is insane!

My daughter works in health care, and she's pretty sure it's already here- and has been for nearly a week. I don't think I'm ready for the panic when it hits. I just want to go back to life as usual, but I'm not so sure 'usual' will still be there when this all dies down.

There always seems to be some HUGE fear factor in the news; war, economy crashing, Russians, China, Trump- people always thinking the worst.

Perspective seems to be lost. "A coward dies a thousand deaths, while a brave man dies but once" .

But it’s just the flu and it’s a huge conspiracy. I mean MGM must be in on it along with the liberal media. Amazing they are so willing to lose money to all this phooey.
