I want to add that the "no community spread" bit was from Omaha radio (KFAB) earlier today. Just wanna put that out there. I didn't do any reading on that and I don't have a source link.

Lol, yeah well I have a different virus now. So snot bubble swapping is right out.

I am in Alaska and we just had our first confirmed case yesterday. It was someone on a cargo plane that flew in from another country.

But let me say this. I think the virus is already spreading in Alaska. We get thousands of people flying from Seattle here and that is part of the major outbreak in the US. My brother just came through Seattle a few days ago, and one of my co workers was on vacation in Oregon and is returning tomorrow on a jet from Seattle.

I have no doubt once they start testing people in Alaska there will be several cases.

They closed down the schools here, 2 weeks, but the CDC is talking 8 weeks, which is a good idea.
Already the island I am on has locked down the hospital and the old folks home here.
No visitors only essential staff.

I saw my first day of panic buying right after Trump declared a national emergency. The store I work in had to quickly clamp down on toilet paper, bleach,Zinc drops,rubbing alcohol,clorox wipes,peroxide and a few other items. They are now one per customer.

My island is based on the fishing industry and brings in cannery workers from all over. They are not doing so this year. Unsure what is going to happen because of that. Also now most local gatherings are cancelled.

And this is just the beginning.

What island? I was based in Elfin Cove and often visited Pelican when I was on a troller. Mostly we hung out in Lituya Bay unless we needed supplies,

She tested positive in another state so probably didn't have it in Montana.

However... it IS Montana so nobody cares.

Which we like.

More than 1500 people were hospitalized in the Atlanta area alone. 44 deaths attributed.
That was considered less than normal .
No schools closed that I know of and certainly not all the rest of the "stuff" going on now.
So far , the numbers show that we are going to have a bad year of flu .

Great idea for a thread. And it would be much more valuable if people would also post the number of cases from State Health Department testing and third party testing.

And indicate what kind of tests confirmed which number of cases, like this:

This virus isn't over-hyped.

It will/could most likely kill my uncle,aunt and anyone else with health issues in the assisted living facility here.

Hhmmm, another State with just one case.

In Virginia, we have 41 positives and we had our first death today. A man in his 70s, who acquired COVID-19 through an unknown source. The cause of death was respiratory failure as a result of COVID-19.
