I have been tracking USA cases and deaths on a number of different websites. Most sites update multiple times a day. Today the USA numbers didn’t move...all day long.

The CDC abruptly stopped reporting total number of patients tested for COVID-19 a week or so ago and only reported number of positive cases and number of deaths.

Now it seems the USA total numbers of cases isn’t being updated either.

Does declaring a National Emergency mean the government now has control over release of infection numbers? My first thought was that info was being withheld by the government to prevent panic.

That's not accurate for my state and neighboring state...I don't know about any others though.

I'm find my local coverage is inconsistent and lacking. Cases reported in articles disappear. My local news was reporting a few third party tests, but they stopped a few days ago and went back to reporting exclusively on the CDC's confirmed cases.

5000 plus deaths? In the US? Is that true?

Forty-one deaths in the US, 5,400+ total.
