The trouble here is your personal definition of the word "gain".

Stop thinking like a sensible adult conservative and start thinking like a liberal snowflake millennial.

This isn't about "gaining" anything. It's about a group that typically over-reacts, and is typically fearful, overreacting in a fearful way. They're not doing this for money, they're not doing this for political power, they're not even doing it because they hate our freedom, they're doing it because they're afraid of a new disease that's sweeping the nation and is making people sick.

It's not just Covid that they're afraid of. They're also afraid of being blamed. They don't want news headlines saying that they fiddled while Rome burned, and they don't want to be named in lawsuits or coroner's reports relating to people who died from covid.

It's as simple as that. They're afraid.

Here are 8 popular propagated myths about Covid-19. I'm sharing them because I see these same lies being peddled as fact here daily. Hell this probably deserves a discussion of it's own.

I've put the reasons they're false in my quote but if you follow the link you'll find out why people fall for these lies.

6. Increases in Cases are the Result of Increased Testing - If this scenario were true, one would expect the percentage of positive tests to decrease over time. But numerous analyses have shown the opposite. The rate of positive tests rose in many states (such as Arizona, Texas and Florida) that had big outbreaks this past summer, and it decreased in states (such as New York) that controlled their outbreaks. 8. A Covid-19 Vaccine Will be Unsafe - Vaccines save millions of lives every year. Before a vaccine is approved in the U.S., it must generally undergo three phases of clinical testing to show that it is safe and effective in a large number of people. Weird, people that have had it (out of a measly 65,000,000 that have recovered so far anyway) report its just like having "bad flu". Still, pretty incredible that humans encountering something for the first time are able to recover 99.997% of the time.

What is the efficacy of reused damp masks? As I have observed multiple people ripping their masks off carelessly and throwing them in the car for the next time round. In order to be effective, one would think they should be renewed or washed frequently in a deadly pandemic, say every hour of shopping? Hahaha! So much for the holier-than-thou mask brigade.

Hate hypocrites but kinda don't blame them really, I saw masks in a pharmacy for £1 each! Most everyone has long ditched wearing gloves as half decent ones are simply too expensive, and the great unwashed were not using them correctly either.
