On Thursday the lack of testing capacity for Covid-19 was recognised in blunt terms by one of the top US officials dealing with the crisis. Dr Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, described the current state of affairs as “a failing” at a hearing of the House oversight committee.

From Congress to state capitals across the country, politicians of both main parties have shown rare bipartisan agreement that the pace of federal testing is woefully inadequate. Congress members who were given private briefings by Trump administration officials on Thursday expressed shock and outrage that so far only 11,000 tests have been conducted in a country of 327 million people.

By contrast South Korea, which has been grappling with one of the most severe outbreaks of Covid-19 globally, tests roughly the same number, about 10,000 people, every day. In total, South Korea has tested 230,000 of its 51 million people – 130 times as many per capita as the US.

Maybe Democrats should have not attempted another failed coup by the sham impeachment.

Trump started acting at the need of 2019 / january 2020. Dems felt their coup was more important than Americans safety.

Did you lose count of the bills that they've passed that are sitting on Mitch McConnell's desk because he refuses to put them in front of Trump to sign?

Sorry. Everyone (Republican, Democrat, Independent) has been attempting to act in this situation. If you'll recall, Trump said it was overblown, that it'd be over in a few weeks, etc, etc. He didn't actually start to act until the stock market started crashing.

So, between McConnell's roadblocks and Trump's downplaying of the situation (and dismantling a lot of the Federal government offices or leaving positions unfilled), we're not in as good shape as we could be under a more effective leader. Like Bush, for instance.

DNC and Dim Governors are still encouraging their masses to get out and vote in tomorrow's primaries, even though no more than 10 people should congregate, and also remain 6 feet apart.

As I said and facts back it up - Democrats did not even lift a finger for the virus when it started except to bitch at Trump for taking action. Dems were more concerned with impeachment.

As with everything else Democrats scream the sky is falling and then blame Trump or accuse people of being racist for concentrating on China's part. Dems are excited for the virus and the impact it is having, which says everything we need to know about the mindset of Democrats and how they hate this country and its citizens.

The never reacted like this when the H1N1 virus hit and it infected and killed way more people.

But by al means keep crying wolf.. Eventually Democrats will find out they are being tuned out by the people because they keep lying / blowing things out of proportion for a political agenda.

If it's any consolation, China seem to be doing much better now and had plenty of medical supplies - gee, I wonder why?

I wonder about the numbers out of China... how accurate they are. They tried to shut down the initial reports... I trust the data from Europe more than I trust the numbers from China.
