what people fail to (or don't want to) understand is that the problem is not about the death rate, the problem is how many people will need ICU treatment and, in the US, who, from those who need it, are going to be able to afford for it. Look at what is happening in Italy, just yesterday 196 people died from covid-19 because their heath care system is overwhelmed and, in the most affected areas, they don't have enough beds for the number of pacients that need it (remembering that people are still suffering from other stuff, from traumas to strokes etc). 2 and a half weeks ago Italy had less cases from covid-19 than they have dead from yesterday.
