Either way good thread, there's little doubt this virus and flow on effects will be used by evil people for nefarious purpose. Personally I think this has the potential to be a life changing event, and not for the better.

Absolutely, ketsuko!
I saw a graph....the US is worst at testing than any other country with many cases.
WHY???
Your post makes sense of it.

But where exactly is all this panic?
The Associated Press reported that United Airlines Flight 1562 landed in Denver shortly after takeoff on Sunday after three passengers failed to follow crew member instructions after growing upset about being seated next to the supposedly sick passenger. The passenger in question was apparently suffering from allergy symptoms, and was screened for a fever onboard, which came back negative.
The three unruly passengers were removed by police in Denver, while the remaining passengers and crew continued on to Newark, according to Fox.

Wait what? There are government agencies lying for political gain?
I’ve never heard of this before....
Yup, they are perfectly willing to tank our economy, just to ensure Trump isn’t re-elected.
It doesn’t make me go hhhhmmmm. It makes me sick! Crap, where’s the toilet paper!

We won't know for a couple of weeks how severe the threat is... But if Italy serves as an indication, I don't think we should take it lightly.
As for the market... It was on an eleven year bull run, anything could have caused a correction, something like this could definitely spook investors.
I usually question everything... This seems organic to me, but that's an opinion, and time will eventually tell.
Organic? The virus or the series of events leading up to and the over the top fallout?

But if you test, and the cases are mild, it eases the panic....and you could find a roll of toilet paper at the grocery.
And hand sanitizers would be available on Amazon.
Seems like the created panic is already here.

This disease is far easier to catch than the flu. It is at least ten times more lethal than the flu. Hospitals in Italy are swamped.
The CDC conference today was not promising. They do seem to be taking their damned time getting testing deployed and reporting cases. On that point, I agree, they are actively dragging their heels when it comes to providing test and test data. They are either incompetent or seriously attempting to downplay the infection numbers.
The CDC is already getting sued by the city of San Antonio for incompetence or intentional negligence.

Who was it that said never let a good crisis go to waste? Despite the naysayers here, I have no doubt that there are a LOT of people in our government that would do anything they could to get rid of Trump. That means in all sectors of the government, all departments, lots and lots of people. So do I believe someone in the CDC would manipulate things to make Trump look bad? Yep. I have no doubt. Would those people put our citizens in harm's way to do it? Yep. The hatred for all things Trump goes so deep in some of these people nothing they do surprises me. It's embarrassing that our own people would do that to each other, but for some reason here we are.

Big difference, everyone there has the sense to wear masks and stop the spread.
That isn't going to happen here.
