I didn't know it before, I don't know if it's old news, and it sounds very threatening.

It's not very new, I had heard it before, but last time I checked it I was not listed. This time I was.

Fortunately Google gives you a way to remove yourself from this database. I guess it's a good idea to check it intermitently and make sure your aren't listed, and or remove yourself if you are.

That was awesome! I put in my numbers and got INCORRECT information!

Some other guy has my phone number apparently, or at least they haven't updated the info since I got my new #. I hope people waste their time trying to track me down...

I've got like three names at this point, because people constantly re-arrange my first and last name on official documents. I think by now I'm at least two people officially.

I'm curious if they have Canadian # in there too? Try checking another one and see if it pulls up anything.

You may want to check back on it in a couple of months. Like I said, they didn't used to have mine, then it showed up.

You apparently are easily threatened:

Type your home telephone number into Google's search bar & click the search button . . . MapQuest returns with a physical location of your phone number

Is your phone number in a public phone book?

This feature does not work for every phone number. Some classes of phone numbers, such as unpublished phone numbers (i.e., numbers belonging to customers who have requested that their local phone service providers not publish their numbers in printed phone directories or make them available through directory assistance), will not display.

There are dozens of places that you can do reverse directory look ups.

Also, everyone who removed their number from google, you have not removed your number from the sources that google queries to get your numbers. Google is just a search page. it searches some databases and gets the information. I think all that you are doing by opting out of the google thing is making it so that google doesn't respond to your number. But anywho, yellow pages, and the dozens of other pages, will still give your numbers.

Why is this scary? Anyone who has your phone number already is going to know where you live, and certainly can find out.
