So last year 37,000 Americans died from the common Flu. It averages between 27,000 and 70,000 per year. Nothing is shut down, life & the economy go on. At this moment there are 546 confirmed cases of CoronaVirus, with 22 deaths. Think about that!
What the hell is wrong with you people?

Why do people keep comparing annual numbers with monthly numbers? This isn't over yet. It's exponentially getting worse and at this rate it will surpass all the flu's people keep trying to compare it to. Anything could happen in the next couple months. What if 150,000 die in the next 4 months what will you say then? More people die from cancer? LOL....I mean cmon, why do people keep comparing apples to oranges? WE don't even have 12 months of data for COVID-19 and people always wanna talk about how many people die per year from the normal flu. It's been 3 months! and don't try to multiply these numbers by 4 and use that as an argument. That's now how EXPONENTIALLY works.
Just so you know. 100% of the people that died from this virus wouldn't have died if it weren't for this virus. So comparing something ongoing to something ADDING ON TO IT isn't a valid argument.

Why do you feel as if its not normal that people are dying from a virus? Thats what viruses do, kill people.
Theres no cure yet, so whats the point in panicking? Its not going to save people

What if 150,000 die in the next 4 months what will you say then?
Overall, 5.6 million children under age five died in 2016, nearly 15,000 daily (World Health Organization [WHO], 2016). The risk of a child dying before five years of age is highest in Africa (76.5 per 1000 live births), about 8 times higher than in Europe (9.6 per 1000 live births) (WHO, 2016).
Approximately 3.1 million children die from undernutrition each year (UNICEF, 2018a). Hunger and undernutrition contribute to more than half of global child deaths, as undernutrition can make children more vulnerable to illness and exacerbate disease (UNICEF, 2018a).
Flu Kills 646,000 People Worldwide Each Year: Study
Seasonal flu kills 291,000 to 646,000 people worldwide each year, according to a new estimate that's higher than the previous one of 250,000 to 500,000 deaths a year.
