Coronavirus Patient Zero in Italy Was Pakistani Migrant Who Refused to Self-Isolate

Officially, patient zero in Italy is an Italian man with Chinese roots who visited China in January, he then infected a 38 year old resident from the town Codogno, who went to the hospital were health care workers did not take precautions and lots of them became infected as well. The man's wife and family got infected to. That is how the outbreak got out of hand.

Everyone is obligated, however being symptom free but contagious early on presents a problem also.

In the US, I worry that people will not self quarantine, due to $$ issues. Lack of sick time etc.

Well I'm just coming from a pov that I think the vast majority of people that had to choose self sacrifice for the safety of everyone else is foolish.

People that work in fast food are underpaid, already on skid row and denigrated and chastised by segments of the population. Seems to me like a recipe for disaster.

Mr. Watson has historically NOT been a liar, and I have found his reports to be usually quite accurate, and usually tell the truth, a week or two before the MSM break the same story, then like to claim it is breaking news.

Info wars is the worst source. It is up to you to prove your source is correct since you presented the story. You presented a story with a questionable source, now back it up with other sources otherwise you are fine with spreading BS with no other sources to back it up.

Hello Spacedoubt, It was reported in Adnkronos an Italian newspaper...and it refers to this migrant being the patient zero in the Pavia region of Italy. There were numerous simultaneous outbreaks in different regions as Italy got swamped with multiple cases and patients.

I don't do Italian, but this is the source where Mr Watson got the story...he didn't "make it up".

News is a controlled thing...for example.

NO USA MSM was reporting the story about 2 girls who flew in from Italy to New York, who were showing signs of symptoms and approached authorities with their concerns. They were told go ahead and board their flight to Tampa Fla...

Upon arrival there, or shortly thereafter the tested positive to the coronavirus...it was covered in the local Tampa news Tv stations, but only locally...for some reason.

So, the thread is NOT bogus, Mr Watson is not bogus, and the news story was reported in other places.... just like all the other posts at ATS seem to follow.

I will not try to sort through Italian language news site... but I do trust Mr Watson to do his best to NOT distribute false news stories. I have followed the young lad for several years, and he is an upright bloke.

Believe me, if I ever discovered him to deliberately publish false news, I'd drop him as a source like a hot potato.

If the source is "questionable", it would lie with Adnkronos, not Mr Watson, or Infowars...

I also have followed Infowars for several years, they might get it wrong sometimes... but most all of the time they are SPOT ON.

They have been shadow banned and people supposedly quote INfowars as saying something.. and to find out, they never said it, or clarified the report at the time it was speculation or just a theory.

End of discussion on INfowars as a bad source, or Mr Watson integrity..from me, anyway..

The above is an article that refers to several areas that has outbreaks all about the same time... This person was considered the first patient in the Pavia region.

Just like a patient in Seattle was patient zero for that area, and another was patient zero for another city in the USA....

I see where you and and maybe some others want to drift the thread, and cast dispersions on the OP article source...

If you want to call it bogus, call it on the Italian new site... I maintain Mr Watson does his best to report truthfully.

You'll see the same thing happen all over America. People will continue to work because banks, landlords, utility companies, etc... don't care if you're sick. I doubt a majority of Americans will even be diagnosed, because getting sick here is expensive.

As a German in the UK I watch sometimes German TV. At the moment they are all over the virus in a logical and seemingly calm way, teaching people how to keep safe etc. Yesterday they had an educational warning for people who had come into contact with someone who has the virus.
They showed a young man answering the door to a totally hazard suited doctor, who came in and explained his visit. Apparently the young man was in contact with his best mate the night before who has CV.
After being checked and found symptom free he was told to self quarantine.
He was ok with it.

Then they showed what would happen if he disregarded the self quarantine. They showed him walking down the street smirking as if naughty, when two people with masks held him by his arm and escorted him back to the flat.
The narration was that if you are caught twice doing this you will receive a hefty fine [I think it was around 2000 Euro] and if caught again you WILL go to jail.

It was all filmed to look absolutely unthreatening and logical. Basically if you are ill or have been with someone ill, stay the eff at home, don't walk around like an imbecile!

You're a little more blunt about it, however I don't see how people can gloss over the reason why this will spread out of control.

No doubt there are still those thinking it's the fast food workers fault, they should have studied harder and become someone better, or the Wal-Mart employee that didn't better themselves yada yada yada .

It was in one of the videos I posted to the corona virus threads a while ago. When everyone else in the world was restricting or stopping flights out of China, Pakistan actually increased flights out of China.

We know nothing about the disease situation in Pakistan, but that doesn't mean it's not there and that it hasn't been traveling all over the world from there because they did nothing to halt it coming to them from China, similar to Iran.

Rome is chock full of immigrants, especially black Africans, Muslims and East Asians (presumably of Chinese descent). I wouldn’t expect them to have the same hygienic standards of a First World nation like Italy. There were also plenty of immigrants in other Italian cities I’ve visited, like Venice. Even tiny Dolo had them.

I wouldn't necessarily ascribe that motive to it either.

All that had to happen is that he had contact with a relative out of Pakistan while Pakistan is admitting flights out of China while everyone else is stopping them.

Whether or not he decided to quarantine doesn't have to have any animus in particular. We've already seen people who think they're too good to keep themselves shut off despite knowing they've been exposed and could be exposing others.

From reading this, he was working at a chinese food restaurant. So it seems more likely that he got it from other people working there? Presumably a chinese person? Any mention of when this person got to italy?

Likewise, while if he knew he had it and continued working, that most certainly isnt right. But take note of some of the wording, "authorities asked the man to quarantine himself at his home." See, if this was so dire, the authorities shouldn't have simply "Asked" him, it should have been an order, where it is clear if he doesnt he will get in trouble.

But I noticed this is part of the problem with the overall "Authorities" and governments handling this situation, especially in the west. And actually indicative of a larger problem with governments in general in the west. Which can be put simply as them being too "weak," though another phrase that might be more accurate is "anarcho tyranny." And that is all these governments not actually willing to enforce the law in a way that is actually beneficial for the common good of the people living there.

Like in this instance, and what we are seeing everywhere, where people are just being "recommended" to stay home, or told to self quarantine, while not making it clear how this is being watched, or whether there are any consequences if people dont. It's as if some people want this disease to spread, really makes you think.
