So mine's a little less high-flyin' ...

You know your mom is awesome when you have a bit part in the high school musical and two days before the dress rehearsal, the people who were supposed to be making the costumes send you home with a bag full of fabric and a pattern and your mom gets the whole thing pounded out with her sewing machine in a single night.

Then when the people running the musical get upset because the dress your mom sewed in that amount of time on zero notice is too low cut for them, she marches down and gives them a piece of her mind about it.

Your dress is your dress after that.

Once I took my mom, for her birthday, to a concert of some old guy she'd been a fan of for years. He was a very popular semi-regional kind of act.

There were old ladies there screaming, WE LUV YOU! Half way expected one of them to pull off her support hose and throw it at the stage. (Gonna be nice here and not say "her Depends.")

It was really kind of depressing. Like, I'm sure 35 years ago they were all hot young ladies and the dude had a thang going, but now ...

Anyway, Mama really appreciated it, so it was all good.

Mom learned from grandma. Grandma was a girl scout leader and once broke her ankle taking my mom's troupe out on a camp out.

It was the philosophy of anything to further our kids' education and activities.

Yep, awesome mom for sure! What a great memory.

Almost embarrassed to say I've never heard of Wilcox. Nice to hear something different, I liked. I looked up some of his earlier stuff, quite the unusual style he has and character to boot. He had to be influenced by Zappa some.

I love this.
*Mom here.
I bring my kids (adults) to every concert and music festival I can. Just can't beat the euphoric experience.
When I had the chance to see my favorite 80s band Def Leppard in concert I took my 3 oldest with me. To this day they haven't forgotten how big a moment that was and I got to share it with them.
There have been numerous front row center and mosh pits since that night and no sign of stopping. Two weeks from now I finally get to take my youngest daughter to her first concert ever... And of course we are front row center. ❤

Dave is a bad bad dude.
He is a legend.

He used to panhandle for a bottle of Jack Daniels, then he would go in and blow the roof off the place.
He is a special guy.

He is also legally blind.

Please let it not be a Celine Dion or a Justin Beiber concert?
Be a good mommy and keep them away from that (insert swear word)

Few years back I took my son to Ozz FEST!
It was awesome with about 20 bands at the old Starwood Amphitheater in Nashville but the one that Surprised me was.........
..ICP ---------Insane Clown Posse------- concert!
I had toooo much fun!
The band had a like a chain link fence between them and the crowd.
Had a few beers and figured out that the chain link was there for me to throw empty beer bottles at!!
Shot with Faygo by the band
Awesome!!

I ended up spending over a decade in the Army. I resented her back then but I know she put me on the right track.
