I hope he runs indie, he may have the cash to do it.

What a glorious moment it would be if he gets screwed at convention, violence breaks out, Bloomberg gets DNC nod. Bern holds a press conference and announces indie run the same week.

Then again he may want another house and take the payoff. He’d need to “write” another book which would be a “bestseller”.

The vibe on ATS has really shifted over the years.

It went from a site of conspiracy theorists that distrusted ANY AND ALL presidents to drinking the mans kool aid.

The Shy Tory factor is a name given by British opinion polling companies to a phenomenon first observed by psephologists in the early 1990s.

They observed that the share of the electoral vote won by the Conservative Party (known colloquially as the "Tories") was significantly higher than the equivalent share in opinion polls.

The accepted explanation was that so-called "Shy Tories" were voting Conservative after telling pollsters they would not.

What I find hypocritical is, when you look at the subject of polls and odds of the last election cycle, Hillary was guaranteed to win and didn't. The pro-Trumpers laughed at the polls they cite today and use the same phrase "He can't win," when describing Sanders.

I'm willing to bet that a good number of people voted for Trump last election as a troll vote, a middle finger to not only Washington but some of the Left who admittedly became so smug, voters wanted to see them fall.

Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Bernie will be the f* you vote this time. The Right have a leg up on the competition now, so it's their turn to be smug but because of that attitude, people will root for their fall too.

Rejoicing in the failures of your fellow man is petty.
It's akin to praying for death upon your enemy versus praying for them to change their ways.

It's still too early to predict this one. There's usually an October surprise.

It would be cool to see the voter turnout hit something 70% though.

If anything due to the way Dems have been aggressive with a trump supporters, it will flow Trumps way this time, there lots of closet Trump supporters. Simply because he gave everyone a bigger paycheck.

The polls were wrong because they used incorrect sample sizes, over represented Dem strongholds, and it was all hopium. They were smoking a lot of hopium. They still are smoking tons of hopium. They have no viable candidate at scale this time.

Biden = senile, criminal
Bernie = socialist, health risk
Warren = serial liar, do nothing
Klobuchar - decent, but personality of a box
Bloomberg - billionaire, sexual harasser

4 of them are extremely negative towards America.

There’s also a deeper issue at play called tribal leadership. Trump operates on the top 24% of that scale, no Dem candidate can be positive enough to break out of the bottom 24% of the scale. Obummer, Reagan and Billy Clinton knew how to operate at the top 24%, love them or hate hem they did. They won because of it, you need to operate at the top of the scale to bring the middle 49% along with you and win elections.

He should run as an independent. What does he lose? Some donated funds? It would be a step away from the usual two party choice between the lesser of two evils.

I don't see anyone in the entire presidential nominee list that I particularly care about. Just another year of the general public telling me what my choices look like and how to pick the lesser evil.
