Even under Trump the US still lets in more immigrants than any other country. Not even close. He's not closing borders other than identifying concerns over vetting and diseases which would be the same concerns under any world leader who cared about their citizens safety. The only way to control this thing is by bottle necking / funneling where real threats have been established. If a Democrat was in charge it would be the same response. The freedom of movement of the disease must be restricted to buy time to create a vaccine.

It's not going to be stopped. It can however be severely restricted from moving. Australia and Saudi just tightened their entry. These efforts will slow it. It's going to take a year best case scenario to make a vaccine. Every country should be taking this measure right now. Slow this damn thing down and give people a fighting chance.
