Since this thread is in the Introductions forum, you can do it from here.
At the top of this page. just under the word "advice", you will find an icon labelled "new thread". Click on that.

The edit screen has two fields, one for title, one for main text.
When you finish typing your title, do NOT press ENTER or anything like that, because the thread then goes out automatically without waiting for your text.
Click on the main field instead and write your message first.

Is the Karma score the number of posts? I tried finding the info on that but can't, maybe I'm misunderstanding it. Also, when I go to a post I can't seem to find any after mine and then it jumps to 'page 159' or something. This seems way complicated.

Hello I’m am not a bot Russian or otherwise. I have a really good ideas for a original political post and I just created this account. It says I have to post an intro thread but I don’t know how to do that. How do I unlock the rest of ATS features. I am using an iPhone 6. I suggest spending a lot of time on the "Recent posts" page (one of the top line of links), because that's where you will find the threads which interest you in the current topics of conversation.

You can make 20 replies almost anywhere.

Just pick a topic you are interested in and start talking!

A helpful hint to find out how others have done things, you can click on the quote button above posts to see how tags work and BB Code.

Link to an older thread on BBCode but it's mostly still relevent.

Before you can start your first topic it's required that you make some posts so that we get to know you. That's in part to help filter out spamming attempts and trolls. After you have made enough posts in topics you should be able to start a new thread. Make sure the posts are not just one liners and have substance. Meaningless or off topic posts are discouraged.

At the top of the pages you will see a strip of choices - chose "forums" and you will see a list of the various forums available, pick the one that suits the topic and click on it. In most you will see a link to a thread that explains the purpose of the forum.

After you open the right forum you will see something like what you see below. Click on the plus sign to start a new topic in that forum.

Then you will see something like the example below -

Make sure you properly link to sources and use proper "ex" tags when quoting material written by others. Do not quote the entire article, but instead follow the rules in "Posting work written by others".

ATS can be complicated at first, but it all makes sense after you get the hand of it.
