Hey there to start a new thread click on the Aliens forum,

Then topright you will see a tab saying "new thread" Click that and it will open up the box for you,

Put in your title and text and hit the "post" button,

Ive been a lurker on this site for some time and have had an account for over a year. Today is my first day posting. Dunno why it took me so long. But everyone here seems very friendly and i appreciate that. i will be posting far more often now that i finally got up the courage

I propose that everyone be required to make 1000 posts before joining the main area.

20 just doesn't cut it.

Don't you think 1,000 is a bit excessive ?
ATS is a bit odd in the fact that we strive for quality, not quantity....

Maybe at most 100 posts to shake out the wheat from the chafe, but restricting new members from being able to start threads would be a detriment to the entire community.

We really want to hear what you have to say, and all of us want to see you start threads with news, ideas, and opinion on diverse subjects. To make that more difficult to new members could drive people away from the site. Perhaps people like you even, you might get frustrated not being able to start an important thread that interests the membership, but you leave because you don't have 1,000 posts.

Keeping the required 20 posts makes sense to me because it gives the Mods a chance to weed out the trolls and still gives new members the opportunity to start their own threads in a short period of time.

I want to start a thread, but this is my first time... I dont know how to include a pic. I thought you had to put the pic into a photo Album first and then link it.... But Media is not letting me put any pics into my Album. Why is this?

Could some1 please help me, i dont know how to input a "source box" onto my post, NOOb ano but still, lol, 1st one to answer gets a free lolly

Two problems:

1. When I click on "Zedd's Handbook of ATS Links," I get "Server Not Found."
   
2. I have uploaded an avatar and have it in my picture gallery, but it only appears on my profile and not on my posts.

Hey there the hand book is not working right now,

your avatar needs to be uploaded to the media center,
Heres a step by step guide on how to do that,

check out our media Vids to help get you started, You need to upload a picture to the Media center, Use your ATS name and password to log in

I think I've done that as I do have a photo in a picture gallery.

I clicked on the button to activate the photo as my avatar, but when I do that, it takes me to a profile update page which will not update when I hit "Submit."

Ok copy and paste that,
Go to member tools At the top of th page,
Then Account settings,

Add that to the Avatar box, then submit

Points are what you get each time you post, You can see how many you have by lookng at your profile,
You can use this in the "ATS store" thats where you can Jazz up your profile ect like the back ground color ect where your Avatar is,
