if anyone can help me out.

i am trying to watch some podcasts and i am only able to hear a few seconds. basically the bar moves across quickly like the podcast is already over, but i have only heard maybe 2-3 seconds.

Hmm thats interesting, have you tried deleting your online and offline content?

Are you downloading the podstuff or playing it online? It sounds like you're downloading and if so, you're not getting the whole file (usually ue to a slow internet connection or a spotty one).

You could try re-downloading or using the online player. Just click the play it now button on this page.

If that doesn't work, post here and let us know exactly what steps you're taking. I'm sure we can figure it out.

i have been trying to listen to them without downloading them. everything i have tried to listen to(even on other sites) has the same results. i know my internet and connections are perfect...always 4 green bars and 54.0MBPS

Well, I said that because it's a known WinAmp issue. There is a fix here in this thread:

If you don't want to mess with the technical stuff, I'd download the mp3 and when you right-click it...you can choose the program to play it with. Better still, get iTunes. You can add the feeds and it will tell you when there is a new show available and even download then automatically and play them for you too.

this is getting weird. nothing other than firefox connects to the internet...real player won't, win amp won't, i tried playing online radio which also won't play. i tried watching some online videos and they aren't working either...just firefox oh and pokerstars connect...

my zone alarm security won't update either


any ideas here?

That sounds like firewall stuff. Not the Windows firewall, but rather like ZoneAlarm not allowing other programs to access the net. Strange it would not allow itself though.

Thank you for creating a place where I can ask stupid newbie questions!

I've been following the saga of the "drones," and a colleague of mine has created an impressive schematic advancing a theory that the Mandelbrot Set has something to do with the craft's propulsion.

I would love to provide this to ATS members (and he's given me permission to do so), but I don't know where to post it. I'd hate to append it to one of the specific drone threads since they seem pretty dead, but it's rather off-topic for the "Isaac" thread, and I know better than to start a new thread altogether.

Do you have suggestions?

if so, what conditions should an avatar fullfill in order not to be deleted

1) No photos of persons wearing less than shirt-and-shorts.
2) No artwork (non-photo) of persons wearing less than bathing attire.
3) No persons, or links to persons in a sexually suggestive pose.
5) No persons engaged in what would be considered an obscene gesture.
6) No persons pointing weapons at the viewer of the image.
7) No images or links to images containing blood or gore.
8) No images or links to content containing people involved in an illegal act.
9) No images or links to images containing illegal objects.
10) No images that are taunting in nature toward any person or group of persons.
11) Other content, which at the discretion of forum staff, is designed to be vulgar, obscene, or offensive to the majority of ATS and BTS visitors and members.

none of the above , i guess he just didn't liked it, i put it again, and i hope for at least an explanation of why, if it will be deleted again

Hi how do I use a picture for my avatar, is there a setting somewhere to put the url? I have pics on Photobucket I could use. Some of these avatars are huge, how big a picture can I use exactly?

Account Settings is where you put in your avatar.


And avatars can be 160 x 320 pixels or 160 x 400 if it's lower than 50k
