House 99 – Rocky Adkins seat

BIG WIN in Kentucky House District 99. It’s a district Democrats held for 33 YEARS, where Democrats outnumber Republicans by double digits, and one the Democrat governor carried in 2019. But tonight, Republicans flipped the seat!
-Rona McDaniel

In the House 99 district, Richard White (R) defeated Bill Redwine (D), also by about 1,000 votes. The final totals were 4,750 to 3,731.

This seat was held by Rocky Adkins since 1986, who served in Democrat leadership in the House during the final years of his service.

Secretary of State Michael Adams noted the high turnout for a special election, and said that was due to the “novelty” of a new person filling the seat. The turnout was 50% of the turnout in 2016 (a presidential year), which is very high for a special election.

Interesting, will this trend continue for many congressional seats in 2020, now that people know that Bloomberg "bought" many of them by his own admission last night. It seems that even by their own admission in last nights debates they are worried about the congress swinging back to GOP control.

There we go. The people can demand recalls over the accusation that Bloomberg “bought” their seat. Perfect, not even dog catchers will be safe now.

Should we be touting the coming red wave?

The left did with their imagined blue wave and it turned out to be a ripple in the tidy bowl.

In the meantime...

Democratic candidate Rachel Roberts has won the special election to fill a Kentucky House of Representatives seat left vacant when the governor picked the former representative to be a government commissioner.
Roberts, of Newport, took 2,955 votes over her opponent, Republican Mary Jo Wedding of Bellevue, who secured 1,649 votes, according to Campbell County Clerk Jim Luersen.

Roberts will be the first woman to hold this house seat in Kentucky's history.

Everything evens out.

You missed the sentence stating that seat was held by Democrats for 33 years. Tides are changing.

I guess you missed the part where it was a district held by a democrat for the last 33 years... but why allow minor details like that to get in your way!

If “Bloomberg Bought” is enough to lose your seat, then how is Bloomberg going to win the election or even the DNC nomination?

Landslide? Trump just might be running unopposed in November the way it is looking...

Y'all got a House that impeached him on an imagined crime.
