Hey All

Just received the below brief, cannot see anything about it on any sites?

The pipes, that go along the seabed and connect countries together technically, are broken. It is an India-wide issue and to fix the broken pipe requires specialist equipment. So unfortunately it isn’t an easy or a fast fix. We are working with all the local technology teams at the highest levels to see what we can do and what other options are. At present, we don’t know how long the fix will take – it is technical.

I can only post a snippet of the brief as it is company specific.

I cannot see any ATS threads on this or any external sites reporting it. I do know we have been unable to reach our Indian operations since 8.30am UK Time, its now 1pm UK time.

This is going to affect all those Indian scammers trying to con people people out of their cash....

How sad.

Most likely a botched attempt to "tap" the cables before President Trump visits.

Also, these cables break and are cut pretty regularly. The M.E. is a circus, demand for service is ridiculous to the point cables and wiring being haphazardly installed at best.

Do a simple search and have a peek at the "electricians" of india.

Your skin will crawl.

Not looking very likely a cable has been cut...to many other connections to fall back on.

India probably shutting down connections as a "preventive measure" again...

Peace

No India. This outage only started this morning and if we have put a comm out to all then its pretty significant. We are making disaster recovery preperations in the UK.

Lol... when i got the first batch of emails on this, first thing i done was check ATS, then the Internet. I then concluded in my own mind that this was Wuhan Flu going into full pandemic mode and the net being cut off or something due to happen during Trumps trip to India.

if you google "undersea cable india" and filter to 24hrs, there is a link to "cricket outage map" which states India and Singapore affected by undersea cable being cut but when you click it, it 404 errors.

29 mins ago - ... India, Singapore and other countries were facing issues with the service. ... #outage #cablecut #fibercut #undersea when reporting for a service outage. ... 46 properties are without power after a main electricity cable was discovered ...

Cables get damaged all the time especially by ships dragging anchors and you know its pretty common when they have specialised ships whos entire job is to fix breaks.

Cricket is owned by AT&T.

AT&T is one of the top 10 largest United States corporations by revenue so they get along just fine with the U.S.
