I completely disagree with the referenced videos line of reasoning. The problems with our country are NOT the individual, worker, or citizen. The problems with our country is billionaires and CEOs have rigged the system in their favor. This is not rocket science. The billionaires and CEOs pay the lobbyists for representation in government. The lobbyists force or entice the politicians to pass laws creating cartels and monopolies in exchange for campaign financing. We have no free-markets in this country. Every market is rigged.

George Carlin had this country pegged 20 years ago. His words are more true today than ever:

These words are so true. Against economic tyranny such as this, the American citizen can only appeal to the organized power of government. The billionaires and CEOs hold all the cards. Wages are fixed. Pricing of goods and services are fixed. Take the Healthcare cartel for example. We need STRONG government policies to bring back free-markets and wring out all the inefficiencies of exorbitant CEO pay and excessive dividends. Exorbitant CEO pay and excessive dividends are just as much theft as any socialist government policy!

As long as Republicans continue blaming the person making minimum wage for all our country's problems nothing will ever get done. I just don't understand why Republicans have so much faith and good feelings about the intentions of the CEOs and billionaires. What did George Carlin say about people electing these "rich cock su*&%ers". I think Republicans just enjoy sucking on rich people's male parts.

Money talks, BS is any reason why someone should vote Republican.

I make it quite clear that I say what is great about america is the idea of it set forth by the founding fathers; it was the first constitution written with the idea that personal freedom and responsibilty is the conerstone of what makes a country great.

Of course there are problems,; as almost everyone here has done you ignored the bulk of the video where i discuss many of those problems and the need to come together to fight them.

Thats fine.

Perhaps I wasnt clear in the video.

I point out clearly that the founding of a country based on the idea of individuality and persona freedom and responsibility is what makes america the greatest.

I say corrupt officals are destroying the country.

All the responses i get are "But look at terrible things the US has done" (as if other countries havent also done terrible things)

Yes, i know there have been many sins in the US; but the idea laid out in the constitution is still the best, and we need to strive to get back to it.

Posting videos of George Carlin or Jeff daniels isnt responsive. Yes, they are discussing a bunch of bad things that came about as a result of having establishment globaliists take over our government.

The idea we need to be shamed of the US and the idea of personal freedom outlined in the constitution and allow the corrupt globalists that committed the very sins they are discussing have more control is absurd.

I did watch the video. The problem is not with American values of individualism. The problem is the idea government has no role in our country.

For years I've said Republicans are just as bad as Democrats. Anyone who thinks their party is representing their interests are being purely delusional. I understand for the most part the socialist Democrats I support are being sold out to lobbyists. I just never hear any Republican ever criticize their party as being corrupt. I think in my lifetime the greatest setback to our country's greatness came when all our post WWII factories were all closed down and practically the entire production of manufactured goods went to China. I think what destroyed our factories was the Chinese government pegging the Yuan 6 to 1 against the dollar. The dollar is a unit of labor cost. This means the CEO gets six Chinese workers for every one American worker (it's really like 4 to 1 because of the cost of shipping). The Chinese pegging the yuan to the dollar 6 to 1 destroyed this country. Around 2000 many Democrats proposed laws addressing and fighting unfair Chinese currency manipulation but they were all shot down by Republicans. Republicans sold this country out just as much as any Democrat. Again, if you think Republicans are angels you are delusional.

All I know is when workers are flush with cash because of good wages the economy is running well. When everyone is working for poverty wages the economy is not doing so well. Whatever the ideology the country is using to determine public policy it is not working in favor of the individual worker. Every year the rich get richer. And every year people are driven deeper and deeper into debt and poverty wages.

There has only been one 4 years period my whole lifetime when wages had higher purchasing power at the end of a presidential term than in the beginning. It was Bill Clinton's second term. Whatever was going on under Bill's second term was working.

I'm so sick of high and mighty Republican hyperbole about self-reliance and individualism. Money talks, everything else is BS. Corporations control everything. The individual worker has no representation in Washington. Tax breaks for the rich and gutting consumer protection laws always ends badly. But this is all Republicans will ever let happen.

I never said it wasn't. The difference between you and me is I think government is the only answer. Restoring our free-markets and breaking up the cartels and monopolies giving rise to our latest generation of robber barons is not going to come from people being self-reliant. It's only going too come from government legislation.

Look, I get it. Most of you right wingers think you are always "right" and your opinions are facts. And I've been labeled a "socialist" and "communist" many times in a derogatory way. It's okay. It's just a matter of time before I will be proven right.

Marx always said laissez faire capitalism is always followed by communism. This is because unfettered greed would result in the government's currency collapsing to nothing in value as it gets accumulated into fewer and fewer hands. Once the currency collapses to nothing in value people in the breadlines will finally vote for Democrats. People in the breadlines will demand MORE government not less just like what happened during the FDR era.

Not having a strong government ensuring free-markets has its consequences. But it's okay my comrade. We can stand in the breadlines together and talk about the old days of Republican politics!

it's moderately noteworthy that these inevitable cycles take hundreds of freaking years, and so dealing with it now to your preference is an actual precedent and absolutely moldable, as per example, America.

People are smarter and are demanding more intricate government, an expectation not held by Marx.

Massive government has allowed massive corporations to get that massive government to abuse the people to benefit the massive corporations.

People on this thread correctly point out bad things about this country that I often do as well; massive foriegn wars, ttransfer of wealth from the working class to the rich, etc.

Not a right-winger but I definitely red-pilled over the last year or so, thanks, in part to the arrogance of the DNC media and their never-ending crusade to get F all done in Congress.

I tell you what though. The biggest difference between you and me is that you want to give the government absolute authority to fix everything before you sever their corporate connections and remove their corporate funding.

I might trust them to reverse some of the damage they have done IF they swear off all corporate donations and funding, make PACs illegal, reverse citizens united and make all of their business dealings 100-percent transparent to the American people. FIRST. Before I trust any of them with an iota more power than they already have.

The nation is not just the corrupt officials that run it.

It is the symbol set forth by the constitution and founding fathers.

The idea of personal liberty and responsibility that they set forth is still the standard for how countries should operate.



America's spent the last 60 years conquering, overthrowing sovereign governments and instating dictators, destroying dozens of countries, engaging in constant war in foreign countries, treating it's own population like garbage, and trying to fit its own head so far up its ass it came back out its mouth and went back around and up its ass again.

Historians will look back on America as an evil empire that held the world in a grip of terror and violence while screaming as loud as they could about 'muh freedom'. I mean l, much of the world already sees America this way. Though, I guess it's hard to hear anything when your ears are clogged up by your own #.

The idea of our constitution which set forth the ideal of our government is the greatest that was ever set forth.

Could one come along that is better; absolutely.

I hope it does.

The idea of the US of freedom, personal liberty and responsibility; the rights outlined in the constitution; thats what makes this country great.

Of course in practice the US has fallen short of those lofty goals and principals outlined in those documents.

So its not the people ot the land, its the ideal, and that can be taken anywhere

Im uniniterested in being a legend, im interested in having a system of government that if followed would lead to the best outcome; not just in the US but all over the world.

I think the documents that founded the US are best, Ive yet to hear someone show me ones that are better.
