You don't really want a colorblind society

Why do people keep talking about a "colorblind" society and it's being a good thing? I wish they would come up with a new name for the idea of people getting along with each other because being colorblind is not all it's cracked up to be. Take it from an atypical monochromatic, the affliction of actual colorblindness is no fun. Perhaps those few of us who actually exist are another of those minorities that have a voice wanting to be heard. I personally don't wish to see a colorblind society. Then who would I ask to make sure I'm not purchasing that vivid pink shirt!?

i Agree. Instead of being colorblind, we should just stop looking at weaknesses and start seeing the strengths of differance. you should read the giver, this book deals with this issue perfectly.

If you all are color blind....what does it matter what color the shirt is? ?Ain't a one of you can see it.

Sometimes it has it's advantages. Colorblind people aren't fooled by camoflague. That's why they are often used for snipers.

Now, have you looked into the contacts that trick colorblind people's eyes into seeing color?

True... I'm pretty colorblind myself, and even with corrective lenses, I'm deadly in paintball, hehe...cause I can always see them hiding...

No I think it's white people who want a colorblind society...they are sick of hearing about color...they want to forget

Hate to be colour blind though, my grandfather was and I always asked him difficult questions about it.

I've pretty much grown accustomed to living with colorblindness. It tends to make me a better photographer because I can see the overall scene, not particular colors of objects in the scene. The worst thing is when people continually say things like, "Turn right at the red house," "Or check out that blue car." Things like that.

*** Please remember that some members are very passionate and vocal depending on what ride your all on. You should be mentally fit, stable and have a strong stomach for theories, conjecture, research and evidence presented that may be contrary to your own.

*** Please be "open-minded" enough to understand that sometimes the ride isn't always what you might think or expect. Be aware you also might end up learning something new and 'out-of-the-box' before you get off the ride.

*** Please note that at times the ride gets overly-heated and "it's strongly suggested" to get off the ride to regroup one's thoughts before continuing. This will also help guarantee that the ride will move forward without getting derailed or explode into a fiery trashbin.

*** Please have fun! Be aware if you act in an uncivil-like manner, use profanity, intentionally spread a hoax and/or get verbally abusive, you will be removed off the ride by a Moderator. This is for your safety, & also for those both young and old on the ride with you.
