Seriously, nothing at work. I'm in a rural location and a large base. I've heard nothing from any of my mates elsewhere in the country in other units and services. There are a lot of signs and notices with detergent, hand cleanser and tissues with new bins everywhere but nothing else. No movement in stores, no indications of preparedness for a viral pandemic. But then everything we need is no the base. We just need to respond, deploy or both. Either the plans are with the chain of command in the event they have to give a warning order then issue orders or nothing is happening.

On a personal note, I'm prepared. Although interested im not too fussed where the virus originated from (it matters medically, morally, scientifically) but all I need to know is what threat it poses. The longer this drags out the less likely it becomes a threat (unless it's spreading slowly, has cycles and takes a few months to take effect within a populace). I'm not worries, concerned yes, prepared yes but still feeling good.

Yeah, I've done a bit of prepping, but what happens, happens.

Meanwhile, Public Health England have advised not to close schools if there are suspected cases of the virus.

Pressure seems to be building in Hong Kong.

There has also been some panic-buying of toilet rolls, hand sanitisers and face masks in Singapore, which has 75 confirmed coronavirus cases.

You may well be right, it may be “on the rise in a big way” and it could be “ rising exponentially” ( heard someone else say that a lot too on here) that’s your opinion and it remains that until you can proffer any evidence to the contrary

other than those we brought back? 0!
in fact the only quantifiable fact that graph shows is an increasing recovery rate which is great news for everyone!

edit: because you like graphs

files.abovetopsecret.com...
which actually shows the rate slowing in china and other than the anomalous blip ( that was incidentally when the " method of adding numbers changed in china") actually shows a flat line infection rate for the rest of the world ( aka as i said i would !)
doesnt hold water the " exponential growth" claim when the rate of infection is 0!

Heartbreaking.

Makes me wonder if the Chinese government knows something about this disease that we don't know.....like it's an accidentally released level 4 bioweapon.

If you are right then I stand corrected and this is very good news. I just remember looking at the country list and how many cases each country had like 2.5 weeks ago then didnt look at that list again until yesterday and seen a big number increase. Thanks for the clarification.

I could be wrong ( hope I’m not tbh) and I’m not saying it’s no risk or low risk either, but at the moment and with many countries putting plans in place to respond quickly to cases as the appear ( if) then it should appear like measles clusters and be contained quickly ( if it happens) which at the moment the available data doesn’t bear out

But this is a conspiracy forum and truth has no place here

Update: Feb. 17,2020 Tokyo time 8 pm

A simple update with some words that have been shared with some doctors today. So here you go. Nothing is in order on the list.

1. If you have children, take away their smart phone immediately. Reasons are the phone has germs on it. Won't go into detail. If you don't well...
2. Don't take public transportation
3. Stay away from meetings and keep your distant from people
4. All you can eat (we call them viking restaurants) hmm. I won't give you advice on that one

5. IN JAPAN THERE IS NO LET UP ON INFECTIONS ACROSS JAPAN "YOU ALL READ THAT AND IF YOU STILL WANT TO FLY HERE, YOU PROBABLY WON'T WANT TO CONTINUE READING MY POST"
6. (Subject to change in the morning) 99 tested positive on ship
7. 43 are Japanese, yes, there are still Japanese on ship (I just can't figure that one out though)
8. 19 of them are serious condition ( chances are they are over 70 years old)
9. some of the above are in intensive care on the ship (that sounds real bad)
10. 1023 samples have been taken so far (hey folks, this isn't an In and Out Burger joint)
11. Terrible, just terrible, subject to change in the morning , 453 on board have tested positive
12. Sad indeed, 2 Japanese health officials (I believe one is military) have tested positive during the helping operation

1. 2 charter planes with 330 (about) American residents left Haneda Airport
2. 14 known passengers among them are in isolation on one of the planes (I wonder how they managed that , sorry I don't have any pictures of it, must be secret stuff, which I think is great for their passengers) conditions vary, but keep in mind most of these passengers are 70 years old (diabetic people are at extreme risk for fast deterioration of health)

1. New Cases: 4 people in Wakayama (en.wikipedia.org...(city), 3 are in the same family, ages unknown
2. Current count of known people infected in Wakayama is 9 .

Pertaining to the restaurant boat party
1. What was found out 3 days prior a group of Chinese chartered it.
2. On Jan. 18 party was held for taxi company and I believe (if I heard it right) some family members on boat
3. There were 12 tables on the for 80 people (all under investigation)
4. Windows were closed due to rain
5. Boat worker infected

Hospital visits
1. 80 year lady die
2. taxi driver infected
3. 50 year old infected (all 3 related) I think
4. for more update on the above, go here: www.abovetopsecret.com...

5. Doctor 60 in Tokyo tested positive
6. His nurse tested positive
7. That nurse attended the boat party
8. I 'm sorry on this one, take it with a grain of salt: that hospital now testing all patients, closed to out patients, no new patients, no operations are being performed there now

Other news:
1. if you have temp of 37.5 or more, you need to be tested NOW for the virus
2. currently test of 3000 per day are now in operation ( I guess lots of people are going to the hospitals and clinics)
(me too, tomorrow it looks like, took a spill down the hill and 2 weeks later after 4 visits now my temple feels bruised)
3. Govt. warning (take notice on this one) if you have cold or fever , PLEASE DON'T go out or to work, if last 2 day or more, get your butt to the doctor to be tested
4. THIS FEVER NEVER GOES DOWN ( you all paying attention here, the virus fever you have NEVER goes down) that is the wake up call also to get to the clinic for testing
5. if for sick 2 days, go to doctor
6. bad news here: those that are taking cancer drugs are more at risk

More other news:

1. something of business 6.3% fell Gross (something)
2. Sales are falling in some areas of 50% no bs here (Corona virus is having a severe effect on some local economies
3. here's a killer: factor in China with major export of car parts shuts down (rippling effect now being felt)
4. here, like wow , I didn't know this at all: most of them small bottle of health drinks (vitamin drinks) those ingredients come from China (my fellow American's, you remember when Congress passed the bill: not necessary for place of manufacture, just as long as it says "PACKAGED IN AMERICA" Now honestly folks, you think your politicians have your best interest in your health now. Lets see if they ban that crap, all that crap

This is interesting :
57% of Japanese companies say no business travel to China WTF
53% of companies currently say their sales are affected by the virus in China Holy smackers, feel sorry for all the 100 yen stores and dollar stores across the globe
45% say this will have a NEGATIVE impact on their business for at LEAST 6 MONTHS NOW (hey, Americans, what do you think about that , is MSM or CNN tell'n ya the truth like that )

Now I don't thinks this is possible but the talk in the board rooms is this: 28% say it will take 1/2 of year for business to return back to normal, hmm did they forget no one wants to take the subway or trains at that time. Not happening yet, but...

Hey my good friends here on ATS, I got your PM's, tonight I'll answer them and thank you for your kind thoughts. Yes, indeed, its in MY backyard now. Maybe its too late to go shopping now, don't know, but tomorrow, hospital, then emergency last minute shopping. Trying for 90 days supply of basics, really don't know what to buy other then sardines and flour and rice and yeast, sugar, 3 jars of coffee so far.

Tomorrows update, maybe early or late.

So will this virus become a new Chinese AIDs or what? How long do we have to wait for secondary effects if so, also are cured people free of the virus or just symptom free?

Strange data for China. Confirmed cases (excluding Hubei) is a ridiculously good fit to quadratic. R squared is 0.99936.

Real life data just doesn't fit like this.

This graph is the actual data, not a trendline.

Possible evidence of China's fake numbers, used to show outbreaks coming under control.

Quadratic fit was always a strangely good fit, but this fit is ridiculous.

It was clear no one would have resources to continue testing indefinitely at such large numbers, but this seems to confirm the data is now completely made up, possibly to keep spirits high, showing the battle is being won. Unfortunately it also means everywhere outside of China needs to look after its data, because showing more spread than China would not look good...

What can China do at this point to contain coronavirus?

Various footage including videos and photographs from citizen journalists in Wuhan have shown that the government has taken extreme measures to contain coronavirus. Taking the warnings from top virologists in China stating that the government has already missed a critical window of containment, the Communist Party of China has locked down more than 50 million people across the country. Research from several highly-regarded institutions in Hong Kong and the U.K. have said the peak of the outbreak is set to be reached in April to May of 2020. Yet, the Hubei region, which houses more than 58.5 million individuals, has been placed under complete lockdown. Millions of individuals are unable to work and reports show that many people are unable to leave their home.

wouldn't be surprised if the whole of Hubei residents catch this virus as they are being locked up, some with it, some without but a big chance of catching it I'd say.
