Toward the beginning of his briefing, President Trump said that, out of the original 15 cases, 5 have fully recovered and one is in good shape. Does that mean that the other 4 who have fully recovered are not in good shape?

When the first person DIES in the U.S. from this strain of Corona, every TV station will interrupt regular programming to report on the "disaster".

But they won't mention that 44 people died violently in America on that very day, as well.

Death is Preferable as Opposed to Living a Life in FEAR . Hey , BWTF Do I Know ? .............)

Recognizing a dangerous situation and taking steps to try to mitigate it's negative effects upon your life is not necessarily based on fear. It is often the result of cognitive abilities coupled with a mixture of both inductive and conductive reasoning to help guide decisions hoped to deliver a reasonable chance of survival.

Sorry to say, not everyone has this innate talent. So they poke fun at those who do as a compensating defensive mechanism.

So a wise person would follow the simple rule of "Hope for the best, but plan for the worst."

IMHO.

"The state of California has tested ZERO people for coronavirus… all testing done by the CDC, which has so far tested fewer than 200 Californians IN TOTAL"

(Natural News) On the “Immunization Branch” page of the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) website, the admission is made that a total of zero people have actually been tested for the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) because all of the testing is being done at the federal level by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). And thus far, a total of less than 200 people in California have even been tested by the CDC, meaning the true number of cases remains largely a mystery.
At this time, the only laboratory testing for COVID-19 is being done at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) laboratory,” the page states. “If a patient is suspected to be infected with the novel coronavirus, public health agencies will work with health care providers to ensure CDC testing can be completed.”

Now, local health departments are supposedly “working in partnership” with the CDPH and the CDC to identify all infected individuals wherever they might be, and in turn make recommendations about self-quarantine or isolation. But if the CDC is barely testing anyone, despite large numbers of people continuing to travel back and forth between China and the United States – and during flu season, no less – then chances are a sizeable number of infected people are falling through the cracks.

As of right now, about 8,000 people are under self-quarantine in the state of California, though none of these people have been formally tested for the disease by the CDC. They merely displayed possible symptoms of infection that prompted health officials to request self-quarantine.

www.naturalnews.com...

(CAIXIN GLOBAL) - About 14 per cent of patients who recovered from the novel coronavirus and were discharged from hospitals in southern China's Guangdong province were tested positive again in later check-ups, according to the local health authority.

A positive test suggests the recovered patients may still carry the virus, adding complexity to efforts to control the outbreak.

There is no clear conclusion on why it happens and whether such patients could still be infectious, said Song Tie, deputy director of the Guangdong Centre of Disease Control And Prevention (Guangdong CDC), at a Tuesday (Feb 25) briefing.

According to the preliminary assessment, experts believed the patients are still recovering from lung infections and have yet to be fully healthy, according to Song.

According to the latest treatment guidelines for the Covid-19 issued by the National Health Commission, patients can be considered recovered and released from hospital when their throat or nose swabs show up negative in two consecutive tests, with a CT scan indicating no lung lesions, and when they have no obvious symptoms such as fever.

The guidelines suggest recovered patients should monitor their health and limit outdoor activities for two weeks after leaving the hospital, and check in for retesting in following weeks.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has moved Australia into pandemic mode, as the coronavirus spreads to 42 countries across the world.

“We’re effectively operating now on the basis that there is one, a pandemic,” Morrison said, declaring the government was now activating its emergency plan.

7news.com.au...

Its strange..

the whole world took its time to close borders/flights and kept saying this wasnt a big deal..

now suddenly, those same countries are changing course and preparing for a panedmic.

“We believe the risk of a global pandemic is very much upon us and as a result, as a government, we need to take the steps necessary to prepare for such a pandemic.”

they know more than they're letting on

After thinking about this for a while... I'm starting to think this is just Scott Morrison trying to distrct the people from the sports payment scandal thats erupting.

For those that dont know, large government grants were approved for sporting associations that were friends/political allies of people in his government.

Scott Morrison came out in the beginning and said he had no knowledge of the payments.

unfortunately, it came out yesterday that 120+ emails were found to his office discussing the payments.

This could be a smoke screen.. Australia hasnt had any new infections

Yea this press conference is a broad stroke, comparing it to seasonal flu, accept one of the symptoms for many who get it is pneumonia in some cases need of ICU, no questions about who will pay for tests, or hospital stays when it will be needed etc. asking all the wrong questions, back to mindless reporter and politic drivel.

Yeah, the questions asked were rather weak. No one asked if there was actually testing going on in the general public. What about the defective test kits? What about information being withheld by local, regional, and national "authorities" alerting the public of possible infections and where they are located?

Yeah, I do like most aspects of Trump as POTUS, but he probably should be glad that I wasn't in the audience lobbing questions at him.

Or even a "potentially" dangerous situation. And people DO poke fun at others who seem to be more on the ball. What those kinds of people don't realize is that we could be poking fun at them for NOT being on the ball, but we don't.

Most of us that are prepared or "on the ball" are out of necessity. Kind of hard to not be ready for hard times when you have children.

Those that tease and make fun may be mostly without children or single. Its easy to live reckless and unprepared when you just have yourself to look out for.

As stated earlier a few times - virus needs to bind to a molecule large enough to stay airborne and N95 would stop the molecule+virus from entering your person.

Is there something that now contradicts this?

Ok, I know this is going to be a dumb question, so I will apologize in advance.

Why would a smaller particle like a virus need to be attached to a larger particle (molecule) in order to be able to stay airborne?

New US coronavirus case may be 1st from unknown origin

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A new coronavirus case in California could be the first in the U.S. that has no known connection to travel abroad or another known case, a possible sign the virus is spreading in a U.S. community, health officials said.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported the case Wednesday.

California officials said the person is a resident of Solano County, northeast of San Francisco, and is getting medical care in Sacramento County. They said they have begun the process of tracking down people who the patient has been in contact with, a process known as contact tracing.

The patient was brought to UC Davis Medical Center from another Northern California hospital on Feb. 19 but it was four days before the CDC heeded a request to test the patient for COVID-19, according to an email sent to employees Wednesday by the hospital’s interim CEO, Brad Simmons, and David Lubarsky, CEO of UC Davis Health.

The patient arrived on a ventilator and special protection orders were issued “because of an undiagnosed and suspected viral condition,” according to the email, which was sent to employees.

The hospital asked the CDC to test for the coronavirus but testing was delayed until Sunday “since the patient did not fit the existing CDC criteria for COVID-19,” the email said.

The hospital, which has treated other coronavirus patients, has been taking infection prevention precautions since the patient arrived. The email said officials believe there was only a small chance that others at the facility were exposed to the virus.

I recall that the CDC had faulty testing kits, there was a problem with one of the reagents used. It's probably already posted in this thread somewhere, but I'll try to find a source to link.

who pays to keep the beds available when the beds are idle? No one will. The last pandemic like this was , what, 100 years ago? Short term thinking is good in this situation. 9They need to think long term if they are going to increase capacity to keep it from sitting idle. Granted more beds are needed in the short term but don't build them. Now, if we thought there would be volcano eruptions, major earthquakes, other disease outbreaks that happen rather frequently then grap the money and build the beds. Don't let a crisis go to waste as they say. Too much money is wasted when all the government can do is throw money at a problem.

Well heck, aren't there a whole lot more labs now working on these dangerous pathogens now than there was 100 years ago? Hasn't technology progressed to the point where genetically modified organisms can be created at whim in some of these labs? Have human beings become perfect and error-proof since I went to bed last night?

Not to mention that it seems like China and environs is pretty much a hotbed for naturally occurring pathogens that seem to be just a matter of them mutating to the point to where they can easily infect humans and pass from one human to the next.

This particular pandemic just might be the beginning of a long and rocky road humanity will be traveling.

IMHO.

Why is Pence in charge? Why would you not have a doctor, scientist, or someone with experience in dealing with contagions in charge? Baffling move on the part of this (very non-scientific driven) administration.

Have you never met a doctor, scientist, or other technical person who didn't have a clue about management skills? It is not a skill that always comes natural to someone with technical skills.

IMHO.

all some shady government, terror group, nutcase needs is one infected person to make it into a country and the virus can be harvested and used as a bioweapon.

is there any doubt that its a weaponized virus now? Escapes on Chinese New Year.... outbreaks all over the world..... government cover ups... etc. etc.

Nice that Trump has us prepared for the worst but there is a lot of people that want to see this spread. Crazy liberals are talking about getting it and doing your patriotic duty by going to Trump rallies. Pretty sick.

Pence was put in charge because Trump trusts him 100%. It shows how serious he is taking this. Personally I am glad Pence is on it.

MY gut feeling is its going to spread though... far and wide. Some radical Bernie Bros spreading it at rallies would be enough to infect the entire USA.

Update: Tokyo 5pm Thursday Feb. 27

People this is how it is when cultures mix. And America has many cultures to deal with in times of panic.

Story to follow , but first:
1. 8 people now have died in Japan as of 5 pm (holy smackers)
2. 92 people in Fukuoka were tested today (results pending)
3. husband and wife infected: wife is in critical condition

New cases
3 in Okinawa
5 in Kumamoto
2 in Fukuoka

Nothing about other areas (I had to leave, so if other areas, I don't know)

STORY that just happened today
50 people line up to buy mask at the drug store. In the group was a family of Chinese. (different culture, you'll see why) As the store manager brief people in line, it was said to go to the back of the store to buy the mask. Japanese people walk, but the Chinese family just cut in front and then starting running. Well then the Japanese had no other choice but to run too. Upon paying for the mask, the Chinese decided.... we want your mask also, fight emerges . Chinese fighting to take the mask from even the elderly. Its now dog eat dog here in Japan. And you don't think we didn't get prepared for the worse? (well, we really can't , but we did our best) Now other then making a trip to the hospital tomorrow and other future doctor appointments, we are now prisoners in our own home. That is the feelings that us older people may have difficulty handling (stress of NO freedom) Some of you here mention weapons (I recall seeing a sign on a property after Katrina, no trespassing , will shot on sight)

this is what happens when some very powerful people in the world are desperate to stop worldwide populist movements and release a bioweapon. This is all coordinated. Its most likely just as bad hear we just dont know it yet. Trump trying to stop a panic situation as he knows the country is on edge as is and doesnt want to light a match to this powder keg. More people will die from society breakdown than the virus.

Stay safe and hang in there. Sounds like the bigger threat where your at is other people. Keep your head down and you will make it through. If the USA goes hot it will be ugly here as well.

Is it coincidental that Trump is in India at a time American businesses are reconsidering their economic dependency on Chinese production?
What if there is no such thing as a C? What if the US Deep Gov / PTB deliberately dropped a strain in China and one in Iran and one in Italy. But they would never do that would they!!!

I'm thinking it more likely that Iran dropped it on China, to try to implicate the USA and have them go at each other's throats. But China figured it out and returned the favor to Iran. IMHO.
