Trump IS America at this point so his fate is our fate. Trump and his cult followers cannot separate their identities from their fantasy view of what America is. Which is everything they are. White, Christian, Conservative Capitalist. Which is why anything that is not those things becomes a threat to America when it's really just a threat to their perceived superiority status in the social hierarchy. Their self worth was destroyed in childhood so they've attached who they are to this "American" identity that allows them to believe they are superior. Which is why 8 years of a black man in office felt like such torture to them. It was a daily reminder that they are not superior to anyone and they do not own America. Trump is psychological payback for that torture they suffered.
This quote from Lyndon B. Johnson sums it up quite nicely.
"If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you." -LBJ

This book has been used as a leftwing talking point for years, even back to when Obama was elected. The people with TDS will make it out to be whatever they want it to mean.

Plus, you could have at least given the real author their credit for originating this story.

I'm not a democrat or a liberal but nice try.
I grew up in the household of current Trump supporters. The Fox News/Rush Limbaugh "Christian" conservative kind. I know their psychology better than I know anything. I had to learn it to survive due to being the family scapegoat. I know them better than they know themselves and the fact that they do not know themselves is precisely the problem. They are blind to their own ignorance, hypocrisy, immoral behavior and they hate anyone who tries to tell them the truth about these things. And now the same delusion that I fought in childhood and barely escaped has manifested in the White House and infected half the country. I know none of you who are under the shared psychosis with Trump can see this but I see it clearly and its frightening how I can spell it all out for people right in front of their faces and all I get are whataboutism's talking about Obama or using buzzwords meant to just discredit people instead of addressing their points. Look at this thread. Nothing but psychological defense mechanisms like projection and deflection to protect themselves against the truth I am speaking. The Democrats are # too but right now they are looking like very stable geniuses compared to Trump and his cult.

"You have a perceived superiority arrogance" and "your self worth was destroyed in childhood" are contradictory statements.
As for Obama, let's cut to the chase. If you want to say the Right hated him purely because of racism, then I may as well start preaching that the Left only loved him and felt comfortable voting for him because he was half white and they felt secure in that.
Heads I win, tails you lose... the narrative moving forward is now that the Right hated the black side of Obama while the Left adored his white half. Deal with it feathery ice crystal.
