Losing a chance at promotion is a pretty big harm as is being reassigned. Trump may not be able to fire him outright due to the backlash in the military it would create. But he was able to do the same just by this one move.

Yes, he will never see full bird...good

BTW it is impossible for this man to have a war face, many of my Army buddies cringe looking at him.

Yea... Looking at it the guy definitely played with fire holding nothing to put it out. I can't feel sorry for him.

But it does suck we live in a time where everything has to be extremes. The hyperbole used against Trump is similar to what's being used here.

Ive seen people say the guy was a threat to national security, imply he commited espionage, and a few less extreme things in this thread.

From what I read, the guy just seemed to have jumped into something he knew very little about aside from a lot of stuff we all had public access to.... And testified he was reporting the news to a congressional hearing, lol.

Still would like to see his foul play in Ukraine. That may change my mind.

I love some of the arguments against this. "But it's reprisal for testifying against him!"

Okay, so what's the other side of that coin? Because they testified against him, are they now exempt from any of the standards normally adhered to by others on the NatSec team? They can now grow as far apart from the President's foreign policy goals as they want, and actively work against him, and he can't fire them because they testified against him? They're invincible?

These are the same idiots that think Joe Biden is exempt from corruption laws because he's running for office.

That being said, I stand by my post on page one that the right would defend him if the tables were turned.

Maybe for some, but I disagreed with Clinton's impeachment and thought it was a silly reason to do it, as example. Since I'm long time military I have seen it both ways and he was in over his head and should never have been there. I would see that either way.

Being military I have disagreed many times with my superiors, but once I walk out the door even if I disagreed 100% I would own they decision as if I created it and support it 100% and it is this that he failed to do on a grand scale.

Seems like a smart move to me.

What, do you mean getting rid of the opposition... or what ? Please expand in great detail.

But his picks haven't proven to be of loyal cloth either.

We need to remember both the RNC and DNC didn't want him and much of the problems he has have are picks that have come to him through the RNC.

This can't be stressed enough.

Politics at his level mean any support must come with strings, all in house, that can be certain appointments as well.

I'd say Trump picks the vast majority for certain positions, others he probably leaves up to the GOP leadership, course Optics and Media will have him as the sole decider, even though we know better.

This. This isn't unique to the military, but it is crucial in the chain of command, something civilians are aware of from movies and whatnot but don't truly understand. Vindman exposed on national TV what an awful officer he is.

About damn time!

Let's all pray that a court-martial is in Vindictive Vindman's future.

Swamp creature Vindman got caught participating in a coup. He should not be able to walk free.

I stand corrected. Thanks for the clarification.
I guess that leads me to my next question: When's the court martial?

Trump is the commander and chief of the Military. Even the Generals are accountable to him and have to follow what he says in a case like this. The generals did not want to follow Obama's lead so he got rid of them and put ones that would follow his orders in their place. There was not much of an issue when Obama did it to multiple generals.

There can be no opposition within the Executive branch.
It is perfectly fine to oppose, but doing so means you have no business being in the President's administration. So either resign or get fired.
That is how it is SUPPOSED to be.
That SHOULD be more than enough detail to allow you to comprehend why Vindman had to go - and ANYONE who opposes the President in the Executive Branch also has to go.

Dare to tell the truth and you get punished.

Nonsense.

the Vindmans are Marxist globalist traitorous bustards of long standing treasonous stances & actions against our foundational values & the Constitution.

Spin & deny the facts all you want. Patriots know the score regarding the Vindmans. The Vindmans' co-workers & classmates know the score. Their fellow enablers & traitors know the score.

Your spin says far more about you than you say anything the least bit accurate about Trump.
