sheeple pl (plural only)

(derogatory, slang) People who unquestioningly accept as true whatever their political leaders say or who adopt popular opinion as their own without scrutiny.

Peace

Like “overwhelming evidence”?

Never trust a businessman or a politician. The fact that you are happy your favorite politician is "winning" should actually be a wake-up call...

Peace

You mean the person whose policies I agreed with the most? Yeah, I am happier with him than any of the others. As far the perfect candidate, you will never find one.

He, he ... reminds me of a line from the movie Van Helsing.

"You try to trick Igor ... but Igor trick you!"

What's really funny is that there's people who think his approval rating is in any way linked to his chances at re-election.

I wouldn't call being just under %50 percent "soaring" all that poll proves is just how truly divided the country is.

I can almost guarantee you that it will not be a Trump supporter that believes it.

That's fair, but if you take into account being impeached and the Senate not even voting on it yet, Trump is doing very good.

That's kinda what I was getting at.

There are people who see 49% approval, but 50% disapproval as if that means there's more people who won't vote for him than there are who will.

Nevermind that approval can mean different things to different people and not necessarily whether you would actually vote for the person.

Also nevermind that this is a national poll and we don't have a national popular vote.

These people keep getting misinformed by the media and they keep listening. It's hilarious. Show me another head to head matchup between Trump and [select Dem candidate] in a national poll, media. Show it, as if it means anything. We'll just ignore the state polls that you got hilariously wrong in 2016 to the point where the overwhelming consensus was that Trump had "NO path to 270."

It’s not hard to be smug and condescending. Anyone can do it. Doesn’t make you correct though.

www.cnn.com...

Trump's current 49% approval puts him ahead of where his predecessor -- Barack Obama -- was at this same time in his first term. (Obama was at 46% approval.)

lol
better than black nixon!

You want to check your figures on that? CNN's don't seem to agree with Gallup's.

Then it can’t be right. CNN would never report something that wasn’t true. Especially when it involves President Trump.

If Yahoo has it as their headline story it's real. I don't think I have seen one positive story on that site on him in 3 years unless it was buried way down.

There is no denying the economy and job numbers. Some will say Wall Street doesn't mean anything to most Americans but it's simple not true. Not true at all. It means everything. We care about money in this country above all else. It's the one religion almost everybody worships here and where we all come together.

True...although I wasn't being smug nor condenscending. I was simply making an observation.

If you are happy your favorite politician is "winning" than some other is loosing. It is exactly this notion that is being fed...tribal politics.

I'm only here to salute the usage of "the Gallup" in the thread title. It's delighting me to no end. Definite articles are an easy way to make me giggle like a bare foot in a whirlwind of chicken feathers.

I don't think loyal is the right word. Perhaps they just really agree with his policies, because what else is offered from any other candidate that is better?

You are incorrect. It is purely policy issues. I don't know anyone that is happy with every policy of Trumps, but most are happy with most of his policies which is why he has support. If Trump changed his policies to that of the lefts he would lose his base. Tribal politics is only the frosting on the cake. The stuff that tastes good sometime, but it doesn't fill you up. Policies are the cake.
