I can't wait for this game!

I remember 23 years ago sitting in my bedroom, staying up until 4 am on the weekend, trying to grind out and get to the next area of FF7.
The game was massive.
The first of its kind to be a multi-disc game.

To this day, I still compare any JRPG I play to FF7, in terms of story, characters, and experience.
In my opinion, this game was perfect across the board.

On January 31, Square released an extended trailer for the new remake.
I had my doubts about how they were going to do certain things - Red for instance.
Was he going to look stupid? - Hell no, he looks badass.

The Honey Bee Inn - was today's social climate going to force Square to remove this part of the story from the game?
Nope - they made it into a full-on Broadway show!

The graphics, the feeling, the music... this is Final Fantasy 7.

The game is going to be broken up into 3 or 4 parts (probably 4) and each part is going to be a full-sized game.

Here is the new trailer:

And here is the reaction video posted by the voice actor of Aerith.

Here is an excellent break down of everything and all the characters from the trailer

Enjoy!

I own every single Final Fantasy produced from 1 - 15 (except 11 and 14 which were the MMORPGs) and some of the add-ons such as X-2 and Lightning returns .
Those have always been one of my favorite series since the NES days.
Second only to The Witcher Series.
I had forgotten the 7 remake until your thread.
Thanks
Goth.

I don't even want to think about how many hours I spent on FF11.
At least 10 years of playing that game.

I loved FF7 on PS1 and played through its multi disk goodness to the final battle , breeding Chocobos nearly drove me mad but Sephiroth needed to be defeated and I was a spiky haired guy who was going to do it , sad to see they are serialising the remake as that alone for me is a barrier to initial entry.

The original was a revelation in its day but by cutting it into parts makes the remake look like a cash grab , I still hope the remake does FF7 justice and if it's good will likely pick it up as a collection when on sale in the future.

I think they have to break it up into parts due to the sheer size of the game.
The only thing about it that really worries me about it, is there is no planned release date for the next segments.
Apparently, they haven't even begun working on the second part

The last MMORPG I played was DAoC
That has to tell ya something .
I realized I was putting wayyyyy too much time into online games.

In a way I wished they waited to release it on ps5 because it wont be released on Xbox. Unfortunately I will not buy a soon to be obsolete system, even if it the greatest videogame of all time. I am going to have to wait.

FF7 is also my favorite game and it is going to be released on April 10th my birthday. Cool timing... Still with they could have released it on Xbox.

You are the second person to say that , that I have heard.
I was the first.
Legend of the Dragoon was fantastic.
I bought it for my son at release.
I then kinda moved him out of the way...

If they get rid of the turn based battle system, I will not even touch this game....that is what I loved most about the game. The strategy, setting your turns up, I can't stand they new action battle crap.

I have a hard time imagining a Final Fantasy 7-2, part 4.

As long as it took them to develop this game, you'll be seeing parts 3-4 in about 30 years, after the remake gets a remake treatment.

Call it a prediction but we shall see.

Oh I know. It took them 10 years to get this far with FF7... just the first part, which in the original is the Midgar area.
Thats all this game is im pretty sure, up until the plate falls.

Honestly, I think they're going for a cash grab or two..then going to play the 'franchise fatigue' card.

But we did get 2 sequels to FF13, so anything's possible.

By the way, no wanted a remake more than me back in early 2000's.

No, Five and Nine for me. Put the fantasy back in my final fantasy!

I could never get into 6. Too many subplots and characters I don't care about. It's like Disney Star Wars!
