Feinstein leans toward acquitting Trump as his defense team ends impeachment arguments

Just after President Trump’s defense lawyers ended arguments in their Senate trial Tuesday, Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California became the first Democrat to suggest that she could vote to acquit him, despite serious concerns about his character.

Anyone else as confused as I?

And I just saw The Lighthouse (2019) and I understood it more so than this and I didn't understand a damn thing about that movie.

Anyone know what's REALLY going on here?


I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that people that understand some semblance of sense know that Trump didn't really do anything wrong other than being a really big jerk. I'm not a fan of 'W'/Feinstein but I have to give her props for making sense here.

“Nine months left to go, the people should judge. We are a republic, we are based on the will of the people — the people should judge,” Feinstein said Tuesday, after the president’s team finished a three-day presentation in his defense. “That was my view and it still is my view.”

At least she understands the will of the people and not one of those lynch mobs that fill the left side of the house.

Hold on though... This isn't her final decision. She understands there is more but so far, apparently, not enough to make her think otherwise... Yet.

Asked whether she would ultimately vote to acquit, she demurred, saying, “We’re not finished.”

It would be in their best interest to nip this now (IMO).

They are a year our from elections, they should focus on selling the American people a candidate if they want to win.

Removing Trump and not selling a candidate isn't going to do them any favors with independents.

Most Americans vote at the ballot box based on the economy (I don't think it's better for the normal person per say, but that's another topic). Most would say the economy is on the up and up, so they lose unless they quit this and run a campaign.

After all that happened around the Kavanaugh hearings, I will never trust anything that comes out of her mouth ever again!

She already walked it back and says the L.A. Times got it wrong. She's voting to remove him.

I'm baffled how she denies that meant what it obviously meant. She must have been ordered to walk it back by someone.

The LA Times misunderstood what I said today. Before the trial I said I'd keep an open mind. Now that both sides made their cases, it’s clear the president’s actions were wrong. He withheld vital foreign assistance for personal political gain. That can’t be allowed to stand.

Definitely some skulduggery by Feinstein with this "announcement" 🌪️

Maybe just damage control because everybody already knows Trump gets "acquitted" anyway 😎

This decision of hers makes a lot of sense for the older Dems that aren't all "Socialist". If the older Dems want to stay relevant enough to continue getting elected they need to push out the socialist dems, and currently they can't, but Trump can and she knows that.

From my understanding the S/T crowd has caused a real burden on the older rank and file Democrats, and without a grade-A controller like George Bush sr at the helm their best bet was to lay low. This wasn't in the playbook for people like Soros, HRC, and the S/T crowd that's why we're watching them get exposed so quickly under Trump. People like Feinstein understand this and have chosen to lay low so that they can survive the legal onslaught that's coming for the group.

She has been very talkative and it's telling its not getting as much play here in the US. The DNC don't care mainstream media doesn't care

I saw that earlier. She's been putting her 2cents in there a bit lately. I think she's trying to feel it out to see if she has a chance, which she doesn't. I think she knows how detested she is and she's doing anything she can to make herself feel better.

Maybe so. I went back to the article and noticed it grew some. Maybe I'm imagining it or it really did get edited. I don't recall seeing that response but sure enough it's there now.
